Take apart the remote and remove the rubber button pad.look at the back of the buttons, the carbon has worn off or got full of oil.take a q tip with alcohol and clean the buttons.if they are worn off, take a small piece of aluminum foil and glue it to the button .it is small 1/8 inch diameter or so.if you look at the pc board, you will see 2 sets of lines for each button that do not touch.looks like a small maze.what happens when you touch the button is that the carbon connects the 2 lines.eventually alot of force is needed to make contact work, but it completely wears out the button contact pad surface.Gluing a piece of foil to the button will make it work.i have done it a hundred times on remotes with no replacement...
cheers ed
