This could be the control board that has failed, the door latch switch is bad, the solenoid in the valve is open. So if you post the model we might be able to get more info for you .

SOURCE: when dishwasher cycle is started

make sure water is on to dishwasher. second, check the float switch to make sure it is working properly. the float switch is located inside the dishwasher in the front. just lift up on the float and back down and make sure you can hear the switch clicking. try and run unit.
if that doesn't work, take of the bottom kick panel and remove the wires to the water valve. with an ohm meter on voltage, turn the dishwasher on and make sure there is proper voltage going to the water valve. if that is ok, either your water valve is plugged or bad. Joe

Flow detection shot?
Expensive one I had couple of months ago on a Bauknecht. 300 dollars. New machine at 250. Scrapped it.
Flow detector was coupled at automatic waterstop.
Beware if you have a old machine drying with hot air, most all new models use condensation leaving your dishes etc a bit bit wet :(

SOURCE: My Viking under the counter

there is a water valve usually located at the front left under the unit . this could be bad or water pressure could also be a problem , make sure you have a good sized hose suppling the water.

SOURCE: dishwasher will not fill, water supply checked OK,

Check the float switch. Sometimes you can jiggle it around to get it working. Also check the leads going to the water inlet to see if you have power unit must be started to check this. If you have power to the valve it has failed if not check that float switch for continuity. One of the leads from the water inlet goes to the float switch.

Bosch dishwasher doesn't work. water not coming

Hi Gilgol, The link below is a Bosh Dishwasher list of error codes, I believe your error code is E3....CHEERS..
http://removeandreplace.com/2015/10/09/bosch-dishwasher-error-codes-how-to-clear-what-to-check/
Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E3
Fault Condition: Not filling with water
Repair or Check: If the water supply cut-off valve on the dishwasher is completely open but the dishwasher will not fill with water then shut off the water supply and unplug the dishwasher. Remove the water fill line and check to see if the water inlet screen valve is plugged up. If so then replace the water valve. Cleaning the screen can make the issue worse so always replace if the screen is clogged. The valve can get stuck open from gunk and therefore flood or overfill.

Does not fill with water.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Water Inlet Valve

The dishwasher has an electrical water valve called a water inlet valve. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, the water inlet valve might be defective. These valves are not repairable and will have to be replaced.

Float

The float assembly is normally inside the dishwasher near the door on the floor of the dishwasher. If something gets stuck underneath it and holds the float assembly up, the dishwasher won't fill with water. If the float assembly moves freely up and down, the float switch might be defective.

Float Switch

The float switch is actuated by the float assembly. It is a protection device designed to prevent the dishwasher from overfilling. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, it may be because this float switch is defective or stuck.

Water Supply Problem

The dishwasher is connected to the hot water supply from the house. Check to be sure the household water supply valve is turned on. Over time, calcium deposits can build up in the water supply valve or in the small filter screen inside the water inlet valve. The water supply line may need to be removed from the water inlet valve of the dishwasher, then run some water into a bucket to see if there is enough pressure. Be certain to turn off the water before working on the water line.

My plumber just installed a new water supply line for my dishwasher. Now the pump comes on but no water fills up in the machine. If I fill the bottom of the unit with water, it works just fine. Even though...

You don't know how many times I've heard and found the shutoff valve off or partly turned off. Water entering DW is from line pressure not pumping. Items to suspect (again) the water supply valve (would'nt be the first time a new valve is bad). The supply valve (3374621) at the Dw, the float safety switch (normally at front left side,)...remove lower rack, lift float housing up and down. You should hear a click both ways and the housing should be free. Is the Dw fill valve getting control signal from timer. Should be 120v for about 60 sec.

AEH Favorit 50730 dishwasher seems to work fine other than the water never gets hot. Is it easy to replace the heating element or whatever that could be faulty?

If this dishwasher is a residential dishwasher the water that is supplied to the unit is from the hot water side of the sink supply. The dishwasher does not heat the water it uses water from the water heater that is connected to the house. It sounds as if the dishwasher is hooked up to the cold water supply instead of the hot water supply. The heating element you see in the dishwasher is for drying purposes and not for heating water. I would check the hot water supply for your dishwasher to see if that could be the problem. Also remember unless you have a recirculating pump on the hot water there will be an amount of water in the pipe from the water heater and the dishwasher that has sat and cooled down over a period of time therefore when you turn on the dishwasher you will not get hot water immediately due to the distance the dishwasher is from the water heater. You will notice when you turn on the hot water to thew sink you do not get hot water right away you let it run for a minute before it gets hot since the dishwasher is connected to the same valve as your hot water to the sink it acts the same way.
Good luck on your repairs hope this helped.

Just had bosch dishwasher installed by plumber but it is still not filling up with water. it works after we poor a pot of water in it.

Locate the hot water supply hose under the sink that connects and follow it over to where it will connect to the back of the dishwasher. Look for sharp bends in the hose. There should be a valve where the hose connects to the under-sink plumbing. Rotate that valve counter-clockwise to assure that it is open.

If the problem continues, the solenoid valve may have immediately failed. That valve is just behind where the hose connects to the dishwasher.

Good Luck!

Insufficient water in the dishwasher for spinner arms to operate

If the machine functions properly when you add water, then it is likely there is a problem with the water supply. Start at the valve under the kitchen sink.
First I would turn that valve off and remove the water line. Then turn the valve on slowly. Use a small bucket or a large cup to catch the water. You should also have a lot of towels on hand.
If you are not getting much water through it, you may need to change that valve. If you are getting a good flow of water through it, inspect the water line checking for crimped or crushed parts. (is the line copper? braided steel?)
Reconnect the water line to the valve and disconnect it at the dishwasher. Now flush water through the line. how is the flow?
Lastly inspect the water inlet valve on the machine. I found a walkthrough for that at http://www.easyapplianceparts.com/repair.aspx?appliance=dishwasher&part=dishwasher-wont-fill
Actually, you might want to check that first. It may be as easy as cleaning a screen. I'm a plumber, not an appliance tech, so I tend to take a global approach to water supply.
Best of luck

Dishwasher is not giving out water

Call a plumber to check your water pipe or you could twist the tap cap back and fort. Runs the dishwasher, if no water still. change FILL VALVE this is an electro-mechanical device that opens a valve to allow water to flow.
May also be called a WATER VALVE or WATER FILL VALVE.
If this does not solve the problem , you need to change the control board.

Does sugestion solve your problem? let me know.
