Forgot passwrd on a us robotics router

As you can see, there is a reset button.
From USR website:

To restore the factory default settings, use a paperclip to press in and hold the RESET button for five to ten seconds. If the RESET button is pressed for less than five seconds, the Wireless MAXg Router will reboot.

hi yes it is very easy to do, just use a thin tool like a paper-clip or something similar, on the back of the router there is a small recess, push the tool in the reset hole for 30 seconds this will reset the router to its factory default settings, just enter router by usual way and redo all the required settings...hope this helps

some of the router have fixed Username and you can only change the password.

You need to set up sharing and network on the desktop.

If you happen the forgot the router's password the only way around is to do a hard reset(hold the reset button at the back of the router for 5 to 10 seconds - this will wipe out all your previous settings) on the device but if you just need to change the default password to something different here's how;

Open an Internet browser(Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari) and enter the Wireless MAXg Router's IP address. The following is the default IP address of the Wireless MAXg Router: http://192.168.2.1

Go to the Security tab and now you can enter or change the username and password of your US Robotics router, you can also enable wireless security(encryption) like WEP or WPA on the Security tab so that you can properly secure you router against unwanted freeloaders/computers getting wireless access through your router.

admin admin is what you're looking for.

Try admin, admin. If that doesn't work press the reset button and it will restore the factory settings. You will have to reconfigure the router.

Try admin for the username with a blank password.

Generally you have to push and hold the reset button, i suggest for 30 seconds, this should completely reset the unit, including passwords and settings.
