Clean the platen glass and make sure the isn't any debris or ink on it, especially by the roller. If you make a copy thru the ADF while the ink is still wet it will deposit on the glass.

SOURCE: fax not printing correctly

Sounds like your print head is dirty if you are using a inkjet machine. Although you didn't say what machine. Your machine should perform a print head cleaning procedure if you turn the machine off and then on again. Otherwise you'll need to replace the print head which may or may not be part of the ink cartridge depending upon the machine in question - good luck

SOURCE: Lines in copy print

Its not a printer Issue, but its application issue. you will need to uninstall the printer first. then get the drivers those are compatible with the operating system that you use and install those new drivers.
reboot the computer and thats all.
Problem fixed.

SOURCE: printer prints every second line

Hello sir; I believe it's time to clean print head and ink cell, power on the machine open the cover ( as you replace cartridge) , when carriage move to the center , then UNPLUG the power cord. then you may move carriage freely by hand all the way to left, noe you can clean up ink cell easily.

Testimonial: "Printer is now working fine. However I had to clean the nozzles a few more times . Thank You for your help."

To check the ink levels from the HP Photosmart Software
1. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Features tab, and then click the Printer Services button.
The Printer Toolbox appears.
2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab.
The estimated ink levels for the print cartridges appear.

Or

Print a self-test report
1. Load A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
2. Press and hold the Cancel button and then press the Start Copy Color button.
The product prints a self-test report, which might indicate the source of the printing problem.
3. Make sure the test patterns show a complete grid and the thick color lines are complete.
• If more than a few lines in a pattern are broken, this might indicate a problem with the nozzles. You might need to clean the print cartridges.
• If the black line is missing, faded, streaked, or shows lines, this might indicate a problem with the black or photo print cartridge in the right slot.
• If any of the color lines are missing, faded, streaked, or show lines, this might indicate a problem with the tri-color print cartridge in the left slot.

Please telme how can clean the nozell of a stylus cx6400

Please perform the following steps to ensure your printer is physically functioning.

1) Disconnect the printer cable that is connecting printer to the computer.
2) Turn the printer ON by holding down the POWER button for about 3 seconds.
3) Load A4 or LETTER size paper in the sheet feeder on the back of the printer. Press the SETUP button to enter Setup Mode.
4) Press the green button next to the LCD screen until you see NOZZLE CHECK is displayed, then press the COLOR button to print the nozzle check.
5) The printer will print a pattern displaying a number and a nozzle pattern with black & color. Examine the nozzle check pattern that has printed. Each staggered horizontal line and straight vertical line should be complete.
6) To exit the SETUP mode, simply press the COPY mode so that it is illuminated or the copy options appear in the LCD.

If the nozzle check pattern page doesn't print or if it prints with gaps or missing sections, the print head may need cleaning or the ink cartridge(s) may need to be replaced.

If the nozzle check pattern page prints correctly, the problem may be with your software settings, the interface cable, or your computer.

MFC-5860CN poor print test results, missing squares on test resu

I am not sure these have removable/replaceable printheads. I have had issues similar to what you describe. If one of the colors is missing completely, then it is likely that the head dried out due to prolonged lack of ink. If only a few squares are missing but all the colors are present, then you stand a better chance of unclogging. Cleaning 5 times is nothing. I've had instances where it took 20+ cycles to get a jet working. There is hope.
Good luck!

When I print, the copies have lines missing. the cartridge is new.

If you first choose " Print Preview" and all lines are there try printing from there. If still missing lines I think your program, driver files are bad, reinstall them.If you print normal from print preview I would reinstall just driver files.Good Luck.
