Most newer cars have a feature that if power is interrupted to the radio (blown fuse, battery disconnect) it will cease to function without the insertion of a reset code. This code is usually on a card in the owner's information package. IT is intended as an anti-theft precaution, since without the unique code, the radio is worthless. If you don't know the code, or didn't receive it, a dealership can usually provide it if you can give them the serial number of the radio. This will, unfortunately, usually involve the removal of the radio to obtain.
