SOURCE: check signal message when data cable unplugged. blank screen when data cable plugged

This problem is most likely to be caused by a bent or broken pin on the CRT video cable at the VGA connector, OR, this could also be caused by a damaged VGA connector on the back of the laptop. If neither VGA connector is at fault, the problem could be caused a damaged (kinked) CRT data cable, or internal damage to the VGA connector on the back of the laptop, though I suspect the problem is more likely to be external, and you probably won't have to disassemble the laptop to locate the culprit...

SOURCE: problem monitor

Hi, Sounds either a backlight problem (inverter or tube light) or the display interface. Since you have confirmed that it is your LCD monitor, your best bet perhaps is to seek the services of a qualified professional. Should you venture in doing it yourself (DIY), You need to open up the casing. A step by step procedure is better illustrated here . The working principles of notebook/laptop displays are nearly identical to your LCD. Hope this be of some help. Post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: DVI connection fault

I had the same problem, you must call Viewsonic to change your screen. The DVI input on the screen is dead.

Trying to set up system 1080 p. TV is 720. In setup said was incompatible. Now we have no screen to change it

You have two options: upgrade to 1080 TV's or monitors, or downgrade your security system to one compatible with your 720 screen. For security purposes, the 1080 system will offer a clearer picture when details may be of utmost importance. With that in mind, the first option would be the best.

I have two sy5504 monitors and none of them show a picture the screen starting going blue until now you can't see anything turned them off since they do not work...

Hi,

If you are sure that the monitors are ok, then the problem is with the cable you are using.

Try using a different cable
