I am not getting anything on it.. screen is on, tried changing the source AV, PC, DV I nothing..monitor is working !! blue color, menu etc.... checked cables coming out of security system on another monitor , all cameras can be seen!! put the svga cable on the Daewoo and nothing

This problem is most likely to be caused by a bent or broken pin on the CRT video cable at the VGA connector, OR, this could also be caused by a damaged VGA connector on the back of the laptop. If neither VGA connector is at fault, the problem could be caused a damaged (kinked) CRT data cable, or internal damage to the VGA connector on the back of the laptop, though I suspect the problem is more likely to be external, and you probably won't have to disassemble the laptop to locate the culprit...

Sounds either a backlight problem (inverter or tube light) or the display interface.
Since you have confirmed that it is your LCD monitor, your best bet perhaps is to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Should you venture in doing it yourself (DIY), You need to open up the casing. A step by step procedure is better illustrated here

I had the same problem, you must call Viewsonic to change your screen. The DVI input on the screen is dead.
