While I was away, I called my neighbor and a couple of days later I called a friend who was coming to visit me at our camp, which is over 100 miles from my home. My friend was on her way down, and I left a message on her voicemail. My neighbor told me that he heard my message that I left, when I was talking to her voicemail. How did this happen?

Hi..have you tried your SIM in a different phone and does it work?? If not then its most likely the network with the issue not the phone but if the SIM does work in another phone all i can suggest really is to try restore your phone from a back up from before you started having trouble with it...so say you have a back up from 3 days before you had the issue then restore from that...restoring from a back up will prevent you loosing all your iphone data.. if that doesnt work im afraid you'll have to restore your phone as new to wipe it and basically start fresh..
Hope it helps!!
Use the following steps to restore your device: before doing this please make sure you have your comp powered up and an updated version of itunes on it.
If you do not want to restore from backup, select "Set up as new..."
iPhone only:
For the iPhone only, after a restore, the iPhone displays the "Connect
to iTunes" screen. Keep your device connected until the "Connect to
iTunes" screen goes away or you see "iPhone is activated." If iTunes
does not have an Internet connection, you cannot complete this step.
Select the backup you want for your device and select the Continue button to complete your device's restoration.
