Why won't it heat?

Microwave stopped heating up. Took old door switch/microwave switch/door switch assembly out. Noticed one door switch with burnt connector at wiring connection. Also, plastic frame slightly damaged. So, replaced with a new assembly. I bought on ebay for $16. Put it in and still microwave doesn't heat anything..but now convection oven is heating up the inside of oven when I press microwave button. When I put back 11 wired connectors to computer panel, they all fit as they are color coded and size coded....What could be problem?

My guess is that something has not been reconnected correctly, or there's a bad connection. I'd re-check all connections. If possible, use some electronic contact cleaner on the cables that connect to the control panel.

SOURCE: Microwave door has burnt patch: is it safe to operate?

From your other post:

The paint should be available at big box stores like Wal-Mart, home improvement centers like Builder's Square, Lowe's, or Home Depot, or hardware stores or local appliance parts stores.

You can order the plastic sheet (called the "door film") here. It is part # WB06X10490.

Be sure the mesh is clean and dry before installing the new film.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: Daewoo WM1010CC convection/ microwave combo unit issues

Likely takes a torx wrench or some other special star tool to open it.

Could be a bad relay a bad mag tube or a bad timmer or a bad door switch. Needs to be trouble shooted. You have to get it open and check the fuses and test the voltage on the pri transformer first.

SOURCE: GE JE1860 Microwave is not heating

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron. If all this are fine, test the control board.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be alloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even ifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their twocontacts.
Before replacing the magnetron test also the control board.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts. (here in UK).

Why does my ge spacemaker jvm1740dd1cc no longer heats and the turntable does not work?

Bad door switch. Look for burnt terminals on one of the door switches. Replace the switch and cut off the burnt terminals and splice on new ones.

Microwave stopped heating #mv1608bb

Open the back and look for a blown glass tube fuse. If the filament is broken, replace the fuse. If it's a solid fuse, do a continuity test. If you have continuity, then it is still good. Good luck!

Kenmore microwave 721 85032010 will turn on but won't heat or spin

Chances are that is just a defective top or bottom door switch or its mount.
See our help file on door switches here.
Also, that model number does not show up as a valid US Kenmore model.
Please check the tag in the cooking cavity or elsewhere n the oven and let us know if you need further help.

Sharp Convection Microwave won't heat and turntable won't turn.

I typically find it is not door hinge issues but door switch issues, especially with sharp. You may heve a little movenent in the door hinge and that is allowing the door hook to move up and down on the plunger for a door switch that is probably a bit melted due to bad connections. If you check the door switches and look for any browning around the terminals where the wires push onto the switch you will probably find an overheated connectoion. Replace the bad switch and run better wires and better termninals to the new switch and it will probably be fine.

Sharp Covection Oven/Microwave stops after 1min on any setting

This 59-second stop failure is due to a problem in one of the damper-related components, most likely the switch, but it may also be the motor or the damper door.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller thinks that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

See the attached sample photo.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Lights up BUT does not cook

was there any motor that should run as you turn it on, the fan inside and the rotating table motor. try to replace that micro switch at the door that bubbled out and burnt. try to test or replaced right away the industrial diode that is connected from the capacitor to the ground of the microwave.
