SOURCE: Having problems starting Makita strimmer. There is

Use 50:1 gas/oil with a GOOD QUALITY 2-cycle low-ash synthetic oil.

Remove the muffler and check the spark arrestor isn't partially blocked.

With a clear muffler, and the mix as described, there will be hardly any smoke at all.

SOURCE: My Makita Petrol Strimmer won't start

If it is a gas (petrol) trimmer...then most often it is in the on/off switch on the handle. Before you go tearing anything apart...rock the on/off switch a few times to see if it helps. www.nnyparts.com

SOURCE: petrol strimmer keeps needing new spark plugs

There is very little to go wrong with a newish spark plug, so it is either getting to hot ans whiskering the plug gap ( the plug will look very white around the electrode and a tiny whisker will bridge the gap ) or the porcelain insulator on the plug electrode has suffered carbon fouling due to the engine running too rich, in which case just clean the plug so as the porcelaine is white again.

My RST210 2 stroke petrol strimmer won start it has a spark at the plug also the plug is flooding so fuel is getting through but non start ? Great full for any ideas

Often it's the easiest thing that stump us. Try changing the spark plug first. Sometimes a spark plug just won't fire under load, i.e., while it's in the cylinder but will spark if you have it removed. There are checkers for this, but it's a lot less expensive to just replace the spark plug. Do that first and let me know.

Spear & Jackson 33cc Petrol Grass Strimmer SGT33N, black fuel pipe split. How to replace it?

empty the petrol, feed the black line (the fuel intake) into the tank and grab the end of it thats attached to the filter inside the tank. now you can feed a new fuel line through into the tank and reattach to the filter. hopefully this will solve your problem ive just done this but mine still wont start, either flooded or spark plug. by the way i bought mine new and the fuel line was split.

Having problems starting Makita strimmer. There is quite a lot of smoke coming out and then it stops. Have looked at spark plug -clean, and cleaned air filter. Could the problem be the petrol and oil mix.

Remove the muffler and check the spark arrestor isn't partially blocked.

Makita 2800 r wont start

If there is a spark, then it's probably the timing, which is either, too far advanced, or retarded.
Good luck with that.

I have a rhobi strimmer only 2 years old wont start

I presume this is a petrol one. The fuel can dry in the carby and stop the unit from starting. Use fresh petrol.
I am not sure about the ryoby unit, but if there is a air filter, take it out and dip it in petrol, then try to start with the normal proceedure in the manual.
