Get a lot of vibration on the high spin cycle. Looks like I need to replace the bearings. Can you replace just the bearings? I saw the whole drum can be replaced.

Your washing machine is quietly attacking your home and sanity even if you've never noticed. That new squeak in the floor could be the first signs that you washing machine is weakening the joints in your home's structure. And that low hum or thumping that resonates through your home shouldn't be something that you have to put up with. As washing machines have become more efficient, they have increased their spin cycle speeds to try to squeeze every last drop of water out of your clothes. This isn't necessarily a bad thing since it can save you big bucks on your energy bills. But it leads to some troubling side effects.
The worst of these side effects is long term damage to the structure of your home. Each time that your washing machine enters its spin cycle, it begins to create high frequency vibration. The majority of this energy is transferred directly through the solid plastic and metal feet of the washing machine into the floor and structure of your home. Over time this vibration and shaking takes its toll on the joints between joists, studs and beams in your home. The vibration can gradually cause nails and fasteners to loosen and give way.
The key to preventing this type of damage is to create a boundary between the washing machine and the floor that does not allow this vibration energy to travel into the structure of your home. This can be done using any flexible material such as a rubber workout mat, foam pad, or even a springy anti-vibration shock mount. Some people have even resorted to using tennis ball halves or rolled up gym socks to stop these vibrations.
However, the most effective method is to install a set of 4 Silent Feet pads on the washing machine. These pads feature the world's best vibration absorbing rubber polymers. They instantly convert up to 94% of your washing machine's vibration and shaking energy into trace amounts of heat. Unlike anti-vibration washing machine mats which are bulky, costly and unsightly; Silent Feet washing machine pads are small, sleek and feature the right amount of material exactly where you need it, saving you money. Install a set today and don't subject your home to the damaging affects of even one more laundry spin cycle.

It depends on the make and model of the machine you have. Some drums are bolted together with a front and a back half that split apart. some are heat sealed at the point of manufacture and can't be split. If you take the top off your machine, it should be pretty cleat if the 2 halves are bolted together (You will see bolts). Just be aware that for the noviice, this is a nightmare job. Not only do you have to get the drum out, you then have to knock out the old bearings with ppopriatly sized drifts, without damaging the seats they sit in. THEN you have to get the new ones in without doing any damage to the bearings ot the seats, then you have to get the seal between the 2 halves to seal without any leaks. I recondition machines for a living and I avoid bearing swaps like the plague. I would seriously consider consigning the machine to the scrapheap, rather than doing it yourself!

Source Front loaded SWG5800.

It's possible that your front loaded washing machine is experiencing an unbalanced load or there could be an issue with the motor or drum bearings. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the load: Make sure that the clothes are distributed evenly in the drum. An unbalanced load can cause the machine to shake and stop mid-cycle.
  2. Check the shock absorbers: If the shock absorbers are worn out or damaged, they may not be able to absorb the vibrations caused by the high-speed spin cycle. If this is the case, the machine will need to be repaired or the shock absorbers replaced.
  3. Check the motor and drum bearings: If the machine is making a loud noise or is vibrating excessively during the spin cycle, it's possible that there is an issue with the motor or drum bearings. This will require a professional repair.
  4. Check the control board: If none of the above solutions work, it's possible that there is an issue with the control board. This will also require a professional repair.
If you're unsure of what the issue is or how to fix it, it's best to contact a professional repair service. They will be able to diagnose and repair the issue for you.

Will not balance a load when in the spin cycle

If the problem is vibration when in the spin cycle, you probably have either bad drum bearings (there are two and a seal) or most likely a broken drum spider ( only available for Kenmore as an assembly with drum included ) ,this repair can easily exceed 400 bucks just in parts, it is a very common problem with this machine because the aluminum drum support corrodes and breaks one or more of its 3 arms causing the vibration in high speed operation. Washing machine vibration

I had same problem. It was actually wearing out the rubber gasket on front door. It ended up being the spider on back of drum. They corrode pretty good with the front loaders.

MY NEPTUNE WASHER IS MAKING NOISE DURING SPIN CYCLE WHAT PART DO NEED TO REPLACE? MODEL # MAH4000AWW

If the noise starts before the drum starts to turn it might be the pump is obstructed. If it starts soon as the drum starts to turn then might be the drum bearing. If it is a knocking vibrating sound open the door and grasp inner drum try moving up and down and side to side . If there is any movement aside from the whole mechanism then the spider that holds the shaft to the drum is broken . Need a tech

Clothes washer vibration during spin cycles

the vibration and noise is most likely from the drum bearings wearing out to test the bearings try this out,,,
open the door, hold the top of the drum and lift it up, if it has any free lift in it the bearings are going, now spin the drum by hand and you should here the rumble off the bearings

Stacked Washer/dryer

possible the bearings are going. place yor hand in the bottom of the drum and run the drum around and feel the bearings for any wear/ noise/vibration. alteratively the bearings in the motor could have gone and spinning with the belt removed would prove this.
