No.

  • Regulates the amount of air entering the engine during idle
  • When bad, vehicle could experience high or low idle, engine dies at idle and/or severe high idle possibly causing internal engine damage and safety issues

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am I changed out the fuel regulator and now it's idling a little high. How could I adjust it

There are no adjustments you can make . Idle is controlled by the PCM - engine computer via the IAC - idle air control valve. Changing the fuel pressure regulator shouldn't have changed the idle at all . So , what did you do wrong .

DTC Code 35 - 93 Grand Prix

Generally speaking, code 35 is a problem with the idle air control valve.
The valve is mounted on the side of the throttle body and controls idle speed by how much air is allowed into the intake manifold.

Is the idle air sensor and air idle control valve the same parts or are they diffent parts in my 93 grand am because i'm getting a obd code 35

I believe you are talking about the same part there I dont believe you mean mass air flow sensor. Any way the part you need to deal with is the idle air control valve. On carbureted models it would be the idle speed control switch.

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix shuts down in Drive or Reverse

When you remove your vehicle from park, the idle air control valve (electronic choke) operates to keep enough air going into the motor while you aren't using the throttle so it will stay running. If it is too dirty it can't move properly...you'll stall.
Pull out and clean or replace the idle air control valve.

Ildleing up and down and running high on the rpms

I had a simular problem on my car, but it is'nt a Pontiac, it's an Mazda 323. I solved the problem to be that the Idle air control valve was dirty, and therefore sticking. This caused the engine to idle eratically and sometimes stall. Sometimes it would even stall whilst changing gear.
On most cars the idle air valve is located at the top of the engine, normally near the air filter. And to be honest is very easy to service. It's just a matter of disconnecting and cleaning it with carburetter cleaner.
You probably know this already lol, I'm not sure if you mean this when you say sensor. Hope this was of some help! :)

Grand prix wont idle

There are 3 things that should be checked.
The idle air control valve (some call it a fuel bypass valve)
Throttle position sensor
and a fuel pressure test done. The idle air control is usually mounted on the throttle body, so is the tps which has a black plastic casing. good luck.
