I have a philips tv whith no remote from a hotel how can i program it so i get all channels ?

Hotel sets use a special remote with specific instructions--you need to get that remote and the instructions---hotel knows that..........

The menu inthe remote is taken off from the remote control pad as the management does not want clients to keep tuning or change program settings which can result in customers calling for technical help all the time.
So if you are in a hotel just call up room service as they can come over with a regular remote to help? but then if all channels on the cable is seen , what is the need for?

When you locked a tv you need the password, if you not get it, you will have replace the Eprom chip whith another recorded Eprom chip in acorded whith the tv model number.

Channel 3 is probably locked out... here is how to fix it....

1) Press the Menu button on the remote or press both Volume buttons on the front of the TV to access the TV's internal menu's

2) Scroll to highlight INSTALL using down arrow on the remote or Channel - on the front of the TV.

3) Press the Right Arrow on the remote or Volume + on the front of the TV to access the INSTALL menu.

4) Scroll to highlight Channel Edit using down arrow on the remote or Channel - on the front of the TV.

5) Press the Right Arrow on the remote or Volume + on the front of the TV to access the Channel Edit menu.

6) Use the Left or Right Arrow on the remote or Volume + / - on the front of the TV until you get to Channel 3.

7) Use the Down Arrow on the remote or Channel - button on the front of the TV to select SKIPPED.

8) Press the Right Arrow on the remote or Volume + on the front of the TV to select OFF.

9) When finished press Exit on the remote or press the power button on the TV and then power the TV back on.

You should now be able to use channel 3.

Often these commercial TV's are just vanilla types catering for TV alone. The43 cable channel is possibly the only other alternative that is a money maker for the motel/hotel. They try and prevent people from connecting their own DVD players to their equipment so they are the ones who make the $$.
It is possible to use a Universal remote providing it is capable of being controlled by a remote.
Philips code is 0054 , you can only try!

in the menu usually a button on tv switch from antenna to cable or catv

if you remote won't work there are 7 or 8 different code choices go through them till it does work

most unversals need tv on and will turn off when code is right

also in menu is audio choices stereo on /off and so on play in there till you get it

for phillips tvs that come out of a hotel try this code with RCA universal remote. the big remote not a small remote. 319753 followed immediately by the mute button. this will pull up the tv setup menu.

I had the same problem the solution is you have to get institutional remote and reset the tv from commercial mode to consumer mode and then you will have access to the full menu. go to www.phillipsitv.com to get the directions. I actually asked a Hotel could I borrow their master remote used it and took it back and my tv works fine. Hope this helps.
