You will have to clean it again. But when you do so also check the rest of the mechanism for dust. You can get a special spray can of dust blaster (from Amazon) that will help remove the stuff!

Presumably when the mechanism switches the discs, it dislodges dust particles!

SOURCE: I put the disc in the player ithen tries to play then it says disc not valid .

Same here!!! We've only used it maybe 8 or 9 times. And it's been worthless for the past month because of it. It reads everything "no valid disk" and nothing will work. And I tried e-mailing customer support several times, with no luck.

SOURCE: this disc cannot be played

I am tired of these tediuos firmware updates that are for the most part USELESS. I have done everyone till their latest 1.8v. I still can only watch 1/3 of new monvies which really arent all new now. I paid $1000 some for this flagship unit. In my book it has sunk. Samsung will not even address my problem except wait for a firmware comming soon. I WANT A REPLACEMENT OF A SIMILAR NEWER MODEL OR REFUND. I have spent well over 20,000 on samsung home theatre products and I will boycott them forever. When I pay for something I want my moneys worth.

SOURCE: Sony DVP-CX995V 400 disc DVD Player wont read DVD-

After variety of different tests and findings I have resolved this issue. It appears that the DVD burner was not in good working order and the DVD player was not at fault. Thanks you to all who answered and responded to my problem. Many thanks.

If the dvd player is old it maybe the laser pickup lens dirty you can clean the lens but you have to be very very careful if you do try put no pressure on the lens
get a cotton bud/q-tip and clean the lens very gently you will not see much dirt but lite cleaning will remove a film from the lens

Hi have just bought a panasonic blu ray player model dmp-bd77 here in australia we have put in a b/ray dvd from the usa that plays perfectly but when we have put in another american dvd(not blu ray a...

Every blu ray or dvd player sold in the world comes as standard unlocked to play any disc from any region. On the fifth play of a disc the DVD or Bluray will become locked to that region. So if you play 5 USA dvd's on the player after the fifth disc has been played only US dvd's will be recognised by the player, Same applies to BLUrays. So if i were you i would be careful about what discs you are putting in the player. Otherwise you will be left with a bluray player that cannot be used in Australia. After that happens the only way to play other region discs would be to get the player unlocked. Another point to add , a blueray player has two lasers one to play bluray and another to play DVD's. Lasers can fail so you could be able to play DVD's but not Bluray or vice versa depending on which laser has failed.

Panasonic DVD player dvd cv37 won't play discs.

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, over time the laser becomes weak until it can no longer play the disc. Buy a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, this may give more life to the player, if no change! it is far cheaper to replace than to repair.

I have a panasonic stero 5 cd system. model sc-ak44 after moving and plugging it in, the cd player just does not play. the flashing light says no cd when in fact there is a cd in there. it is put in the...

It's possible the laser assembly got damaged or dirty.. Inside the back cover of your users manual is a procedure to protect against that. Trying to clean the laser yourself would possibly lead to more damage as they are protected from view even when the units outer cover are off. I no longer actively repair electronics, but I can tell you a repair costs more after a customer attempt at correction than the original failure. Lasers are finely positioned mechanisms. I would suggest professional service.

Panasonic SA DK10 starts reading discs, gets to 00 and then stops

If this problem occurs only at this cd/dvd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alchohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case this don't solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Panasonic CD player model #SC-EN7: CD will not play, keeps saying "reading disc", but the disc does not spin, the transverse deck has been replaced with no change in status.

There may be dust inside the unit on the laser. Try shoting some compressed air in the CD drive area to clean out. Also, ensure that the CD surface is clean, and try a different factory made audio CD. Sometimes CD players have problems reading "burned" CD's.

It wont play dvds!!! Help!!! Panasonic SC-HT520

You can try a CD/DVD Cleaner Disk ($3-$5). Some sell for $15, don't know if you'll get better results. If it doesn't work, then you have a laser alignment issue that needs calibrating. The labor is likely to cost more than a new DVD player.

No disk

Get a lens cleaning disc and try to clean the laser lens first. If that doesnt help, your going to need to have the unit serviced.
