If you are zooming in camera (as in, pressing the zoom button while looking at the back of your camera's LCD), you won't be able to save that version.

You will have to open your picture in an image editor and use the crop tool to crop the image to your liking. You can then save that image as a new image. If you don't have an image editor, pixlr.com is a good, free, web-based option.

Why do pictures taken have a black, curved area in top corners of image unless I zoom in?

That's because the shutter is damaged and needs repair, You are seeing it in your photos when using the wide end of the Zoom.

Once u zoom into the picture that is very far away how do u keep the picture zoomed in after u snap the shot ...

Once you've framed your shot (zoomed in) and taken the picture. That's it, the picture you've taken is the one in your view finder, and that's the way its kept.

However, if you want to zoom in further, you can using the software you were provided with your camera, you can, you can also zoom in using your camera menu. Once happy you can then save the edited picture. But this time its a digital zoom and it will reduce the resolution. The picture won't look quite as fine. It will be a balance between picture quality and the extent you want to zoom in.

When viewing an image in playback, I want to zoom in on the image and be able to save the "clipping". I know how to zoom the image, but cannot figure out how to save the clipping. Does anyone know how to...

The EOS 350D doesn't have photo editing functions. To CROP the image and save a copy of it, you need to download the file to your computer and edit it with a photo editing program like the Adobe Photoshop Elements that came with your camera.

Saving a zoomed picture

I hope you can do this thru the computer only.

If you want to zoom the image thru the camera and save only the zoomed portion, then it is not possible as far as I know.

When i go 2 photo,s ive taken.then move the shutter button 2 the right 2 zoom in,then it lets me move the picture up down left or right.when ive got the picture i want, how do i save that picture.

Unfortunately that image is not able to be saved that way. To zoom in closer to the image is only for viewing purposes it does not allow you to save the image that way. You would need to download the image to the computer to be able to save it in that close up format.

Zooming in

Unfortunately the image is not able to be saved if you have zoomed in on it. The camera does not have the ability to save images that way. You can download the image and use photo editing software to cause that zoomed in effect to happen so that you are able to print the image that way.

Saving zoom in photos

You can't. The inphoto digital zoom is just so you can do it. The best thing to do is download the photo to your computer and then use the camera software to zoom/crop etc. Then you can save the altered image.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0

When you zoom in most any photo editing program, all you do is change the appearance of the picture on your screen; nothing happens to the file, merely the size of the image you are viewing. To change the size for the file, here are detailed instructions:

  • Step 1. Select the command Resize - Image Size from the menu Image of Adobe Photoshop Elements. change-print-size-adobe.gif
  • Step 2. Activate the check-box Constrain Proportions to keep the image proportions.
  • Step 3. Activate the check-box Resample Image, if you want to keep the image resolution.
  • Step 4. Select the interpolation method: Nearest Neighbour, Bilinear or Bicubic. We recommend the Bicubic method of interpolation.
  • Step 5. In the group Document Size select units and enter new values in the fields Width and Height. If the check-box Resample Image is not activated, the resolution will change.
  • Step 6. Select OK

Telephoto images

The D-435 has a 4x seamless digital zoom. Press the zoom button with the T on it and a zoom indicator will be displayed in the upper right corner of the LCD. The W represents a wider area of view as you zoom out, and the T represents telephoto as you zoom closer to the subject. images taken in the digital zoom may appear “noisy” or “grainy,” which is normal when using the digital zoom
