I have a Sony Trinaton XBR about 6 years old. Works great. Have Comcast cable and they recently installed a new cable box. Now I get all cable channels on "Video 6 - DVD" rather than "Video 7 -Cable Box". "Video 7 Cable TV" appears on a screen that is otherwise totally blank. All cable channels are clearly received on Video 6 - DVD", but the box containing the words "Video 6 - DVD" remains condtantantly displayed in the upper left corner of the screen and interferes with viewing. Comcast says this is not their problem (I think it is their doing and the cable channels should be received on "Video 7-Cable Box" rather than Video 6, but get no where with them after three calls) and they tell me to contact Sony to straighten out the problem. Can you at least tell me how to get rid of the "Video 6 - DVD" box in the upper right corner of the screen? The Sony remote is a RM-Y201 if that helps solve the problem. Phone # 630 941 1063 "

Hi,
I was awaiting your response in chat session but could not get any thing.
Please hook cable box in Video input-7 instead of Video input-6 in TV and select Video input-7 with remote on TV.
Regarding continues on-screen display of video-6, press Display button on TV remote once, on-screen display will disappear.
Thanks.

How do I connect my Sony smart tv to my old onky o amp

Your TV probably has an optical audio output. Go to Amazon and get an Optical to RCA converter, like an FiiO D3.
Works great and bridges your new TV to your old audio technology (which is just fine).

I just purchased a Sony Bravia 52" 1080 HD 120 Hz flat panel and upgraded my comcast service to HD as well. At times, the "last" button will not work to switch to the previous channel or if it does, it...

If this is still problematic ask Comcast to service the problem and request one of the older, larger, silver HD with HDMI capable boxes. The other option is to use the component cable with the new boxes. I had the same problem and luckily a good technician who took his job seriously! I think I overheard him saying too that a DVR is an option as well, but you, if the technician doesn't offer, would have to state an argument for why you should not be charged extra for using one of those. Hope this helps? Nice to get to the root of problems! I'm keeping my fingers crossed because they had to order the older box. None were left in stock?

I have a universal remote and need the code for a Sony Videoscope XBR projection tv

I don't know if all codes are the same. Comcast Cable gave me a list of codes for their universal remote for their motorola cable boxes. For Sony tvs it says either 0000 or 0111. I still use all 7 of my remotes. Universals are basically only good for power and volume. I need the other remotes handy to enjoy the other functions of my system! Anyway, hope this works 4-u and that you get better use out of it than me.

Hdtv picture freeze

I also have a Brand new Sony Bravia 52" LCD with Comcast Cable (motorola box). When switching between HD Channels sometimes the left side of the screen shows a smushed version of the new channel, and the right side is a frozen picture of the previous channel. I correct this by switching to a non HD channel and back. Cable or TV problem I wonder?

Sony 57 Inch XBR 2001

I don't have the XBR, but on my sony, using the cable box remote, I had to go into menu/display/etc. and mark the 1080i, 720p, and 480i settings. you usually get a "if you can see this" comment if your tv accepts the settings. for standard tv i set the screen to normal, and when the upper channels go to HD, they auto go to full screen. Sounds like you are using the component cable, and also make sure you are on the video port of remote, and the the TV input. The above worked for mine. Hope it helps.
