Question about Sony Cybershot DSC-P200

Open Question

Wheel to adjust settings works when first turn on camera & then quits. WHen I set to playback, it automatically goes to some other setting.

When I take a picture & turn wheel to see photos, it doesn't change. It goes crazy & whatever I set the wheel too, it changes itself to another setting.

SOURCE: cannot change flash setting

Hello, i just fixed that problem yesterday.
You just have to enable Burst mode.
You click on Menu, then you go down once, to the REC Mode, and you take the first choice (normal).

SOURCE: Flash options for sony camera

I recently had the same frustrating problem. The top of the camera has a little black button that can change from continuous mode or single picture mode. It has to be on single picture mode to change the flash setting. After this is changed you can press the flash setting onthe dial and change the setting. I hope it works for you.

Hello. I have a solution for you. You have your camera set to "burst" mode, which does not use flash. Reset it to "single" mode and you will be able to change the flash settings. Regards, Joe. PS Please rate my answer. Thanks.

What would be the easiest setting to use for a beginner

The easiest setting would be the AUTO mode. In this mode the camera does everything except decide where and when to take the picture. You can also use the various scene modes depending on what you're taking a picture of.
As you gain experience you'll want to use some of the other settings in order to take more control over your photography. I suggest you visit your local library. They should have some introductory photography books which will tell you when to use what setting.

Playback for movies on digital camera plats way too fast

I had the same problem. You have the recording setting on time lapse and there is no sound.
Set the recording on to standard by turning the round wheel at the back of your camera. I did not read the manual until I had this problem and I ended up making useless fast videos with no sound. Hope I am right?

Kodak M1033 does not recognize memory card

  1. Turn camera on
  2. Push the options/settings button (the button next to the view/playback button)
  3. On the Capture Screen move over to "Setup"
  4. Move down to "Image Storage" and make sure its set to "Auto" {if not select it and set it to Auto}
  5. If already set to Auto, change to Internal Memory.
  6. Power off and power back on then follow steps 1-4 to set back to Auto.
If this still doesn't work, backup pictures from internal memory to computer then delete all pictures on internal memery. Camera should automatically prompt you to change to memory card.

Camera automatically resets some settings.

Sure sounds like it could be a firmware bug - I suggest you upgrade to firmware version v 2.0.0 (it looks complex but is really quite simple - just need to do upgrade twice - once for A and once for B.

If this does not fix it I would suggest repair - the CMOS (which stores the values when the camera is shut off) may be defective - it must be fixed by Nikon Service.
