Possible that the belt is slipping and also there is some issue with the agitator as the gaps within seems to bring up the dirt or grease mix to the clothes. So it is important to remove the panel and check the play on the belt, replace if the play is high and check if the agitator bearings are worn out. If so the agitator assembly must be taken out and checked.
I'm afraid it is a faulty timer control board problem, the only solution is to replace the control unit, an expensive repair, at 10 years old, I personally think you would be better off replacing the washer.
Sounds like spin drive belt has either come of or is broken...unplug take back of machine off ,its not difficult to do then you can seeif belt still on or not its not an uncommon occurence
It's not worth fixing if it's 10 years old or more, better off
replacing it with a newer machine which will be much more efficient!
The belt is gone and or snapped off or the transmission is shot! And it's not worth replacing an old transmission. If it's 10 years old or more buy a new one and save your money ,fixing it is a waste! Not worth the money to fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
