I have a GR-DX77 mini DV Camcorder and the LCD screen has no power, it is set to LCD priority. When I last used over a year ago all was working. Hope you can help Sheila

The internal battery needs replacing - it is kept charged by the main battery, but if that is not used, the other battery runs down as well.

Handycam not holding charge even with new battery.

Sometimes the batteries will build up a memory if they are only used for short periods of time and never used to the point of going completely dead, so possibly getting a new battery online. B&H photo is a pretty good site.
I know some chargers have an output to the cameras battery connector that powers the camera, and if that is plugged into the charger it will not charge the battery simultaneously.
If the camera is working when plugged into the power source it usually turns out to be a battery problem. Sadly the only choice it to buy a new battery.

Bought a new vector maxxsst 1200 watt inverter

Inverter run on batteries sir, and if these batteries are not charged, the run time {the number of hours it will work} reduces.
S0, you will need to connect the inverter to a power source.Theses will allow your batteries to be charged and enable it to run for a long period of time.
Make sure your batteries are still OK.i.e working properly

My Sony Handycam DCR-HC30E mini DV is not working

In many cases I found DC Jack defective in this model and resulted does not charge battery through ac charger nor power up directly with ac charger.
I would suggest to check ac charger and battery on similar model Sony camcorder and I think your camcorder has DC jack problem thats why camera is not getting power from ac charger.

Sony handycam just quit.. won't charge or work it just died no notice given.

Does it power up if connected with AC Power Adapter?
Have you tried extra AC Power Adapter or tested with another Sony Camera?
Let me know to guide you further.

Battery symbol blinking when put on charging.

It does sound like the battery needs to be replaced, but it also could be an internal charging problem with the camcorder. I would try a new battery first, since it's the easiest and cheapest option

Battery life?

Here is a replacement source

The batteries are covered under warranty for three years. Sony batteries are know for not keeping a good charge after a few years.

If there not holding a charge, they wouldn't appear on the LCD screen at all. I the AC power is working fine, then that probably isn't the source for not getting a charge.

You could try lightly scraping the contacts on the battery and see if that makes a difference and recharge them.

Sony DCR-VX1000E batteries

Li-Ion batteries cannot be charged efficiently with power supplies or NiCad chargers, they need a pulse charger dedicated to Li-Ion batteries. Also, there is a danger in charging with other sources as Li-Ion batts. will catch fire or explode if not charged properly. Please get a charger that is made for those batteries

Power source

Most laptop batteries die - that is, fail to hold a charge, after a few years use, and have to be replaced. That is the probably the reason for your problem.

Sony handycam video hi8

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
good luck
