Step 1: Navigate to Settings > iCloud > Backup.
Step 2: Switch on the backup button and just let your hands free. It will take a little bit longer if you are the first time to backup iPhone to iCloud.
Step 3: You will see the backup details after it finished.
Step 4: Activate the new iPhone and select recover from previous iPhone. Sign in the same Apple ID as what you entered to backup on your previous iPhone just now. Then you will get the "same" iPhone.

I don't understand your question. iCloud is the backup. Your new iPhone will access your information in iCloud automatically when you log into iCloud. Please provide more information.

Remove iCloud activation from iPhone 6s

You can bypass iCloud activation through below instructions. Maybe it's helpful for you.

How to Bypass iCloud Activation Lock Quickly Step 1. Press the home button and tap on Wi-Fi Settings; now tap on "i" next to Wi-Fi symbol.
Step 2. From here, you need to follow below mentioned steps after removing the existing DNS.

If you are in USA/North America, type in 104.154.51.7

If you are in Europe, type in 104.155.28.90

If are in Asia, type in 104.155.220.58

In rest of the world, type in 78.109.17.60

(In this situation, there is a way to help the owner get his phone back. Bypass iCloud Lock in iOS 9 or iOS 8 for iPhone. This method works from iOS 9.2 to iOS 8.)
Step 3. After you have entered the right DNS, tap the "Back" button and click "Activation Help".

When you have successfully completed the steps mentioned above, you will receive a message saying that "You have successfully connected to my Server", which means that your device is activated and you now are able to most of the major functions of the device, including the settings. By tapping on Menu on the top right, you can access different functions like iCloud Locked User Chat, Social, Internet, Mail, Maps, YouTube, Video, Audio, Games and more.

How to remove icloud activation lock

The only way to remove the Icloud lock is to contact the previous owner and have them provide their Icloud information ( user name and password). Once you have that information you can disable Icloud and remove their account from the phone and then perform a factory reset. This will take the phone back to a new from the factory condition.

There's a couple possibilities. Do you have an Apple ID and can you just log in with that? Or is it popping up with someone else email/username?

If Find my Phone is disabled (as it should have been in order to sell it) you could also put the phone in DFU mode and install a new IPSW (OS) file, which would overwrite everything and make it as if you were taking a new phone out of the box, software wise.
