You probably have a broken fan belt (serpentine style). If the fan belt checks OK, then your alternator may be shot. Pull the Alt. and take it to your friendly auto parts guy, he'll put it on a machine and test it. (before you buy) Bring the battery as well, they can load test it or charge it as well. Is this a great country?

I would go to advance auto parts and have the battery tested, Also the alternator, The engine wont run if the alternator is bad, As soon as the battery goes dead the car will shut down, Any auto parts store usually will check the battery and alternator for free, make sure the battery is fully charged before you take it there. They will let you know what you need to replace...

We have a 1999 subaru b4. Battery holding 11.5 volt car started but died at the top of the drive. Now wont start. Any ideas

battery not good. also sounds like its not charging. good battery should hold charge at 12.6 for good battery. anything lower than that its weak. alternator should charge at 14 v min with the engine running. if voltage drops lower than 11 volts ecu turns off.

Ive got a 95 chrysler concorde 3.3L i replaced the alternator ran good for 4 days died while driving it on the highway. battery was tested after replacing alternator battery was good.. car wont turn over.....

If alternator and battery is good, check the ground cables from the battery to the motor and frame grounds.

I have a 2000 chry town and country the batt light came on the other day ignored it. now tonight when driving it the whole car shut down got a jump then it died again down the road. i jumped car agian...

wow if your battery is that old i would get a different one but you can have the battery and alternator tested for free at a auto parts store they can tell you if its junk or not but thats why your having them problems when your alternater spins it charges the battery if the battery is no good it wont hold a charge and you car will die now it the alternater is bad it will not keep the battery charged and your car will die.
