Simply pull up very hard it will come loose. You might want to try and old leather belt or strap under the agitator and pull up.

How to remove the agitator of a top loading moffat washing machine model: MTAP1100F2WW

Here are the steps to remove the agitator from your Moffat top loading washing machine:
  1. Unplug the washing machine from the power outlet and turn off the water supply.
  2. Open the washing machine lid and remove any clothing or items inside.
  3. Locate the agitator in the center of the machine's tub. It should be a large plastic or metal component that rotates during the wash cycle.
  4. If your agitator has a fabric softener dispenser on top, remove it by pulling it straight up.
  5. Look for a locking mechanism at the bottom of the agitator. This is usually a plastic tab or lever that needs to be pressed down or pulled up to release the agitator.
  6. Use a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool to press down on the locking mechanism while pulling up on the agitator. This should release the agitator from the tub.
  7. If the agitator does not come off easily, you may need to use a bit more force. Try rocking it back and forth while pulling up on it to loosen it from the tub.
  8. Once the agitator is removed, inspect it for any signs of damage or wear. If it is damaged or worn, you may need to replace it.
  9. To reinstall the agitator, simply line it up with the center of the tub and press down firmly until it locks into place.
  10. Finally, replace the fabric softener dispenser if you removed it earlier and close the washing machine lid.
Note: The exact method for removing the agitator may vary slightly depending on the specific model of your Moffat washing machine. If you are unsure about any of these steps, refer to your machine's user manual or contact a professional technician for assistance.

How to remove the washplate (agitator) to remove loose change .I have removed the plastic cap and removed one bolt but it still doesnt lift up, help

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5137800&diagram_id=28247413#d28247413 The Impeller or agitator can be removed from the washing machine by pulling the top cap off of the impeller or agitator and removing the 7/16" bolt that is hidden underneath. This will allow you to examine and replace the agitator roller cams or lift the inner wash basket out to access the outer tub, tub sump, and lint filter for cleaning.

Kenmore washing machine Model 110.4767292, squeaky agitator

I can't seem to get the Sears Parts site for your washer model number.

Can you verify that it's correct?

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

In the interim, here is the Whirlpool Service manual for top load, direct drive washers.

Following is a procedure for removing the agitator(s) on top load washers.

If you take the agitators out, I'd make sure that any "gunk" is cleaned off and check the splines inside the agitator and on the transmission agitator shaft.

It's probably not a serious problem.

Top agitator won't spin

Your agitator dogs must be replaced.
With a flat blade screwdriver pry off the top cover on the agitator.
Remove the 7/16 bolt inside.
Pull up on the agitator and remove it.
Purchase the agitator dog kit from the appliance parts store.About $10.00.

Agitator is slipping

I have a different model, but my agitator came off with brute force. I used 2 allen wrenches in the slots on the side of the agitator to get leverage and then yanked until it came off. The problem is your air bell coupler.
