About ervery 1-2 loads the washing machine shuts down. No lights on front panel, no sounds, no buttons work. It's as if someone unplugged the machine. Yet, with volt meter I see power is still reaching the first board (noise filter?). To fix this, I unplug for about 2-5 minutes, then when I plug back in everything is fine. It feels as if a sensor has tripped and removing all power resets the sensor. Please help me diagnose the problem ... Update: I watched the machine for last few days and noticed that all day long it powers up and down. There's that little charm it plays when it turns on and off, and I hear it all day, about every hour. When it powers down I don't see any lights on the main board. I opened it up again and poked the volt-meter on the that little board with copper coil that the power cord connects to. The diagram under the top calls it the "Noise Filter". According to a web post, the filter output has 3 posts; 1 ground and 2 hot. The hot posts should both be 120v. When I test it I find one post is 120v and the other is 58v. I'm thinking this filter acts like a surge protector before the main board. I've seen surge protectors go bad so perhaps that is the problem? I can't find a wiring digram on line. Can anyone tell me what the voltage should be off that filter? I may end up just replacing it ($55) and hope for the best ...
Only suggestion, next time it happens, unplug like you've done and then hold in power button for 15 seconds to see if that resets it.

It sounds like a problem with the control board. You will need to have the unit checked out by a qualified LG technician and possibly replace the board.
SOURCE: LG Washer LE Error
Solved LE error for my WM1832CW by replacing Hall Sensor. Bought part 5016501KW2002A for $Cdn 26 at Sears parts store. Thanks to TC at http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=28214 for instructions:
1 Open rear panel. Take 17mm nut off (it's the only one)
2 Pull off what looks like a goofy hubcap (it's held by magnets)
3 Unscrew the six 10mm bolts and gently lower the coils
4 Remove and replace the Hall Sensor (plastic comb looking thing)5 Plug in the sensor and re-install the coils and cover.
30 minutes for me.
Test spin cycle if desired by following chart on page 19 of service manual at http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/125448.pdf
(note lower models skip step 10 (heater test).
Hall Sensor Part labelled as K351 in diagram on page 41 of service manual.

Solution. Unplug the machine. Hold the power button for 10 seconds. Plug back in. Push the power button and the washer should turn on. Walk away leaving the machine on. When I did this, I came back to find the drum light off and machine would start on command now. Good luck.

I am having this same issue. I have to unplug and replug back in every wash. Very annoying. Especially because I am short and can't reach the plug without a step stool.
Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.
Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.
