Have an older Black Macbook and it was working until the power line light started blinking orange and green until it created the spin wheel and locked up.How Do I get rid of blinking question mark?

Have an older macbook 13" Black laptop and it was working until the power line light started blinking orange and green until it created the spin wheel and locked up. I replaced the battery and now a question mark flashing, any ideas? It was working just fine until that happened, didn't realize that the blinking orange and green meant battery going bad.

SOURCE: Orange and green light flash

The flashing battery light is an indication that the system is attempting to charge the battery. The orange light indicates a problem charging one of the battery cells. This usually means that the battery either needs to be recalibrated or replaced. To recalibrate the battery just use the system until the battery is dead, then recharge and repeat the process twice, after which time the battery should be recalibrated. If this doesn’t fix the flashing orange light then the battery may need to be replaced.

hope this helps

SOURCE: laptop won't turn on

The blinking orange battery light generally indicates that the battery isn't working properly, usually going out and not charging properly. In this case, since the adapter will not power the machine without the battery, and it should, I'm going to say that the adapter is going out and not getting the proper amount of power to the system. Try replacing the adapter. Be sure to replace it with a Dell replacement, the Targus brand universal adapters do not work well with Dell machines, and in most cases won't work at all.

That usually indicates battery is beginning to go bad. Eventually it will not hold a charge and will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: Battery Light Flashes Orange and Green

The LED sequence indicates a failure in the battery. (Like one cell has low charge) As long as the overall battery output meets the minimum for system operation, the battery will work.

The average lifespan for a Portable battery is about 500 discharge/recharge cycles (1 to 2 years) anything after that is a bonus

Replace the battery, issue will go away
