Your fax machine (L120) use dry toner and not ink cartridges, so it doesn't have printhead. If the copies are dirty or bad but received faxes and printed documents are OK, then You have to clean the scanner unit (it's above the plain paper storage and can be opened with small handle).
Hope this was helpful

Although I replaced the ink cartridge, the fax text is fainted.

Hello,
You want to make sure the print head is not dirty or dusty. Remove the ribbon and clean the metal print head you see under the ribbon.
If this does not work then the print head is simply not warming up properly and you need to service it.
Thanks,
Pat

All our incoming faxes are faded although there is sufficient toner. The heads have also been cleaned and the machine has been cleaned electronically.

Your saying the heads have been cleaned but that points towards an inkjet MFP, if it is a laser MFP, take the toner/drum assy out and shake it hard.. the toner may have settled in storage and may be causing the problems.

Fax not printing correctly

Sounds like your print head is dirty if you are using a inkjet machine. Although you didn't say what machine. Your machine should perform a print head cleaning procedure if you turn the machine off and then on again. Otherwise you'll need to replace the print head which may or may not be part of the ink cartridge depending upon the machine in question - good luck

Machine sends fine. Machine does not receive readable copy.

Is this connected to a computer? if so you can run head cleaning utility from the print driver properties. This will pump ink to the head and flush out the clogs. That is the easist way to make sure you don't have a head problem. If it is not connect to the PC then scroll thru the menu to see if there is a maintanence section and look for head cleaning.

Hope this Helps

My brother fax machine is indicating that two color cartridges are almost empty, however i never print anything and color, and basically everything is black. so how can they be almost empty?

Three reasons -

If your print driver is set to color. It will use all the colors to make black.

Because the machine is ink jet it needs to clean the print head to stop it from drying out. It will use color ink to flush the print head every two days.

When ever in receives a fax it will use some color when printing a fax, particularly Cyan.

If you only wish to print or receive faxes in black there is now a version of Brother fax that only uses black ink and has no color inks. However it may not be available in your region. If you try and cheat the system you will only kill your print head.

Solid Blank Line

If it's blank, is this on what you send/recieve?

Also if you print something like a status sheet, is it missing on those too? If so, your print head needs replacing.

If its on copies/sents you need to clean the scanner head.
