I bought an older 842 washing machine. It has been sitting for awhile so I cleaned out the filter. At first I did not get the plug back in and water ran out and the inlet fault light came on.

I finally cleaned out all of the grit and got it closed and ran a hot wash. Tons of gray water and grit came out. When I went to use it again, I can hear the water running, I checked it my water pressure is great 2+ gal in 15 secs the tub does not turn, no water runs through the soap, or into the tub. The red check inlet light comes on after 20 seconds. The fill continues but very little seems to come into the tub maybe a cup by the end. When the water stops, the anti-crease/finish light flashes and the drain pump comes on. It drains about 2 liters of water. I have tipped the washer forward, no water comes out. No water is leaking on the floor either. I have also cleaned the first filter at the hose connection. I loosened the hose as it enters the machine but it does not come off without taking the back off the machine. I cannot see how to clean any other filters else. I also took the drain hose off and ran hot water through it to get all of the grit out before I ran the hot wash. How do I clean the inlet hose and filters? What else can I do?

Sounds like either the small filter at the inlet solenoid valve or the solenoid valve itself. Either way you are going to have to get inside the machine to get to the inlet valve. If no water is coming through the soap draw then it can really only be at the valve OR the inlet to the soapdraw is blocked (again - need to take off the top to look) Make sure power is disconnected before you do. The flashing red light after 30 seconds or so is just letting you know that the drum has not reached certain water level in the appropriate amount of time.
Good luck

what I have found is that the washer thinks it is not pumping out .. if your drain pump is clearly removing the all the water in a good time... then the problem is your pressure switch...it is telling the computer that it still has water in the machine...

replace the pressure switch and it will solve your f21 error.

It is a round unit on the right hand side on top...with a tube and wires going to it...let me know if it helps

If your sure the water way is clear, unplug the unit, plug it back in,
and see if the error is gone, if not, place the water lines into the tub and turn on the water to make sure water is coming into unit, if so the problem lies somewhere else.

Re-post if this didn't help, and say you did this but still have the error.
Good luck, hope it helps.

You should have a drain filter. They do become clogged and need to be cleaned out. If the draine filter is clogged you will immediately know it upon removal and inspection. If this is the culprit, be sure to show your daughter how to access it, remove and clean it and then to reinstall it. This can be quite frequent (8 to 12 months) depending on her environment, like allot of pet hair and things like that. Let me know if this is the culprit. By the way, you are going to have to bail as much water out of the drum as posible unless your model has an easy water shut off just prior to the filter. Otherwise, all the water left in the drum will run out of the filter assembly when you remove it. With any luck the filter is the culprit and not the pump.

Code OE

Stephen 1787 --
You are getting this code because your washing machine has tried for more that 10 minutes to drain the water out of the machine. Most likely the cause of this problem is that you have a plugged pump filter or you have something stuck in the pump filter.
First make sure that you unplug your washing machine. To clean out the pump filter you must drain the washing machine water. Manually bail-out the water using a small bucket or basin. Then use a towel to sop up any remaining water. Remove the pump filter, clean out any debris, and rinse out the filter. Plug your washer back in and restart the washing machine. Ensure that your machine is properly leveled. Washers that are too far out of level may not drain properly. If you are still having problems, write back. -- SWT

Unplug your washing machine and then you will be able to get the door open and the clothes out. You may need to leave it off for awhile to get it to work but make sure you have a bucket ready to catch the water coming out.

Sounds like it is trying to drain water. Pump filter is probably clogged. Washer wont work properly if it thinks water not draining all the way. Pump assemblies usually are at bottom behind lower front panel. Remove pump cap and filter, clean and reinstall. Should solve problem.

I am very unhappy with this machine and sorry I bought it! It uses so little water that sometimes when I take the clothes out after it is finished washing I can see dry spots on the clothes that never even...

How about putting the clothes in and pouring water over them with a jug before the washer starts its program ?.

It could also be that the water level switch is out of tolerance and needs replacing

Most machines have a pre-wash cycle as well
