Question about Yamaha RAV-300 Remote Control

Set TV Code for Yamaha Remote RAV-290

Separate TV buttons are not on an input, so it does not tell you how to set the TV codes, although the manual lists a gazillion different TV codes.

Do any experts know the answer to this question? It has been posted multiple times, but I dont' see any answers! It is a pitiful manual that is provided by Yamaha for this purpose and nothing is intuitive about making this work. If anyone know the answer, PLEASE POST IT!

Here's how I got mine to work. I found the answer from another user. Thanks, Buddy! I don't know how you ever figured this out since it is defintely not in the manual. Furthermore, the Yamaha website is so out-of-date, the manual downloads don't even exist. Great job!

    1) Press the "code set" button with a pen or straightened paper clip
    2) Press the [A] key (next to "V-AUX")
    3) Enter the code

Test it by pressing the Power key in the TV section on the remote (NOT the "Source" Power" key or Main power key at the top).

Depending on the remote the TV will be pre-linked to one of the inputs. In the case of the RAV290 it seems to be AV1. So setup your TV for AV1 and it should work.

I found this at: http://faq.yamaha.com/us/en/article/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx/rx-v667/4722/4063/

Using the RX-V667 remote to control your TV

Last Update: 11/20/2010
RX-V667: How to program remote control codes for TV Control Key Operations Note: The following steps must be completed within 1 minute. Settings will be automatically stopped after 1 minute passes since the last operation and steps 2 through 4 will have to be repeated.

  1. Use the remote codes listed in the receiver manual/CD Rom to find your TV manufacture code.
  2. Press the Code Set button on the remote using a small pointed object such as a ball point pen or small paper clip.
  3. Press the TV Power button on the bottom of the remote.
  4. Enter in your TV remote control code using the Numeric Keys on the remote control.
  • Once the remote control code is registered successfully the Transmit light will blink twice. If the Transmit light blinks more than twice the code registration has failed. Steps 2 through 4 will need to be repeated.
  • If multiple control codes exist, start with the first one on the list. If it does not work, cross it off and try the next code until one works.

How to get to menu then adjust it to antena?

First make sure that an antenna is connected the coaxial input on the TV and the input is set to TV. There is an Input button on the top of the TV and on the original remote. On the remote, the Input button is below and slightly to the right of the 0 button. On the top of the TV, the Input button is the one closest to the Power button. You can toggle through the Inputs by pressing the Input button several times or use the up/down arrows and then press the Input button to select the input. (TV should be the top item in the list.)

Next press the Menu button on the remote, above and to the right of the arrow keys. (There is no Menu button on the TV.) Use the left/right arrows to navigate to Setup. Next use the up/down arrows to select CH setup. Press Enter. If you've set a PIN, you'll need to enter it. Use the up/down arrows to select the line Air/Cable, if you need to change the source of your signal. Press Enter. Use the left/right arrows to select your source. Press Enter to save the setting. Press Menu to exit. Return to this CH setup menu and use the up/down arrows to select CH Search and press Enter. If you are using an OTA antenna, use the left/right arrows to select Start and press Enter. Wait for the search to be completed. For cable sources, you'd need to select from Analog Search Start or Digital and Analog Search Start. Press Cancel and then Enter to exit the search.

Crutchfield has the manual for the LC-32D62U available from the product page under the Details tab: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-mhRC3OB2Fi4/p_284LC32D62/Sharp-LC-32D62U.html . The direct link to the manual is http://d2stobyut4u5rx.cloudfront.net/ImageBank/v20080124174400/Manuals/284/284LC32D62.PDF . The Input button use is available on page 30 of the manual. The channel search steps are shown on page 23.

I hope this helps. Please note, if you have an replacement universal remote, you may need to try multiple codes for Sharp TVs to get the Menu button to work. If your replacement remote doesn't have a Menu button or none of the codes work, then you'll need a different remote.

How to set up

From the receiver's remote control, press on the 'Source' or 'Input' button. On the list of A/V sources that comes up, you should see one entry for Apple TV and one for PS3, if you plug them in different ports.

I have rca niteglo with tv and vcr program spots and no code search or indicator light, how do i program my tv to it?

You can try to set-it up with the set-up codes said to RCA. Both TV and VCR should be synchronized separately. Both of it will have separate codes too.
No remote control will have a button on its marked as 'Code Search' . There is a way to do it.
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the site linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Pull up older posts.

Panasonic CT 27 SL - 13 GL how to connect external speakers

This TV is set up to connect to an external amplifier which that controls the speakers. It has an analog audio output which means you need an RCA audio cable (2 RCA plugs (red and white) on each end. You can't directly connect a set of speakers. The audio output jacks at between the antenna in and the video inputs. Then you need to enter the menu and enter the Audio submenu. Go to the Speakers item. Turn the TV speakers to off and fixed audio out.(The amplifier will adjust the volume.) Use the Up/Down arrows to navigate through the menu options, press enter to enter a sub-menu and the volume up button to change a setting.

There is also a headphone jack which may be compatible with computer speakers. That has a 3.5 mm jack. To use headphones, set the Speakers Audio item to TV speakers Off and variable audio out. (The TV controls will adjust the volume.)

To use a Universal remote to set the audio or modify the channel list, you need one that matches the Menu function of the original remote. You may need to try multiple codes for Panasonic TVs to get the button to work. Some low-end universal remotes may not have the menu button; get a different remote or use the menu button on the front panel of the TV.

To set the channel list, press Menu and select Setup. Go to the Prog Chan option. Then set your Mode in the first option (Cable or Air). Then choose Auto Program to scan all channels or Manual Program to edit the channel list.

The manual for the TV is available at retrevo: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-CT-27SL13-TVs-manual/id/275ag210/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the manual. See page 5 of the manual for the input connections (page 7 of the PDF).

REMOTE OPERATES PLAYER BUT NO PICTURE....DO I HAVE IT HOOKED UP RIGHT ???

Hello,

DVD players generally have 4 possible ways to connect them to a TV set.

1. Composite Base-band Video or RCA's (Yellow, Red, White)
2. S-Video or Super Video (S-Video, Red, White)
3. Component Video or YPbPr (Red, Green, Blue, Red, White)
4. HDMI or High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)

If you are sure that the connections are correct at both ends make sure that the TV set is on the proper input for the DVD player's signal by pressing the input button, source button, or the proper input button as listed (some remotes have a separate button for each input) on the TV remote.

The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device./

How to code TV into Yamaha RAV290 remote

You have to assign the tv code to one of the components such as AV1 or Audio 1. If you have to separate the audio from the video channels then you need to go to the yamaha website and look at the firmware update manual from august 2009. It tells exactly how to do this.
