SOURCE: DRYER WON'T TURN ON JUST A ELECTRONIC SOUNDING BEEP WHEN I PRESS START.

Check all fuses and circuit breakers , if they are fine, then the problem is with the control timer. You need to have the control timer replaced.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune MDE7500AYW - Won't start - Message says "A power failure..

I had the same problem. It turned out a power transformer in the neighborhood had gone bad. I found it by checking power at the receptacles in the house and we weren't getting proper voltage throughout the house. We had enough power in the house to power lights, the TV, coffee maker etc. but not enough for the dryer. I called the power company and they came out to do a check. At first they said there was a wiring problem with the house until all the neighbors started coming over after seeing their vehicle and saying they were having problems. So maybe you aren't getting proper power to the unit.

Good luck. Hope this fixes your problem.

SOURCE: Dryer won't start. Pressing "Start" button just emits 4 beeps.

does the drum turn? if it doesnt you can assist it and see it that is problem, have to remove top and push it. that would be capacitor on motor or jumper the door closed switch and try to spin.

Frigidaire gallery dryer won't start

It is code that every major appliance is to be on it's own circuit (breaker). I would have an appliance tech check the electric in the dryer for shorts. It's possible the terminal block got shorted. The best thing to do is buy a voltage tester, put it on the block and see if it beeps. If it does, the dryer is getting power and it's an internal problem. If not, then the problem lies between the breaker box and the dryer.

The dryer will not operate. you can press the buttons , all the lights come on, but as soon as you press start you hear a clicking sound and then nothing happens. I seems the dryer is on but nothing is...

go to the back of dryer, remove the back panel, look at blower housing and you see a white thermostat like part with 2 cables. that's the thermofuse. use a multimeter on continuity(beep sound) and disconnect one wire and put leads at the 2 connector of fuse. if no sound then replace it. this is the most common problem. after replacing part check vent at wall that is clean of obstructions.

I have a 9-volt Strait-Line Stud Finder with 3 red LEDs and 1 green LED at the top end to mark the Stud Edge. I would appreciate it if I could receive step-by-step instructions on how to use the stud...

I suspect there are several models but I have one model. 1) Turn on the unit (if the green light is blinking replace the battery). 2) Calibrate the unit by holding it flat against the wall for 5 seconds until the red light goes off and the beep stops. Make sure you do not move the unit during the calibration or position the unit over a stud (try a spot 6-12" away from the corner of the wall - most studs are on 16" or 24" centers and the wood/metal stud is 1 1/2" thick). If the unit keeps beeping or the red light doesn't go off during the calibration, move the unit sideways 5-8" in case you are above a water pipe or other reason for "too deep a surface" for the unit.

3) Do not lift the unit off the wall or you will need to recalibrate it. Slide the unit across the wall. When the upper red light comes on and the beeping starts, that marks one edge of the object in the wall (stud). Continue until the red light goes off and the beeping stops. Mark the other edge of the stud by moving the stud finder in the opposite direction and marking when the red light comes on and the beeping starts. The center of the two marks is the center of the stud for securing anything to the wall.

If the beep persists over a 6" range, I'd check if you have any old cast-iron pipes or a door/window that was relocated in that wall. Repeating the test in a few places vertically along that spot of the wall will tell you there is a consistent large object in that location. Neither a filled in window or door will run the entire length of the wall but you could be finding the headers (the vertical framing of the opening would probably be ~4-6" wide (double or triple stud depening on the needs of the house design)).

I hope this helps.

(on another stud-finder that I borrow, you press the buttons on the right and left side to turn it on. Calibrate by holding it to the wall for a short while and then slide it across the wall. Note when the top red led lights and the beep starts. Repeat in reverse to find the other side of the stud.)

It won't stop beeping all the time. We have tried everything. It beeps 3 times, all the buttons light up and it makes me crazy!! I want it to beep when the load is done - that's it.

When the Cycle Signal Control is ON (turn off) a signal will sound at the end of each cycle and
during the Press Saver setting (some models). The volume is adjustable on some
models.

Beep beep beep

Temporary Fix: unplug the dryer or cut its power at the circuit breaker panel, when not in use. If the dryer alerts/alarms are set to silent and the beeping happens when it's not in use, chances are it's the same beeping you hear when you first introduce power to the unit or press start. This may indicate a short affecting the control board. If you need to press start multiple times to get the dryer started, then the control board components are most likely starting to fail.
