Can you please look inside the door on the free sh food side and get the model number so I can see what type of ice maker assembly you have
Appliance 911 Sea Breeze
SOURCE: crushed ice only
Behind the ice bucket is a metal housing that holds the auger motor and solenoid. The solenoid is bad. When you go for cubed ice that solenoid should pull up the metal rod on the ice bucket so full cubes will come out. First check to make sure the metal rod on the ice bucket isn't somehow caught under the solenoid and not letting if move up and down. You can take out the ice bucket and press for cubed ice. You should hear a loud clunk noise. If not then you know the solenoid is not working.

hi there,
could be that the ice maker arm is getting stuck or may have some frost on it. can you supply the complete model # please?
SOURCE: Frigidaire plhs267zab5 ice maker won't switch crush to cube
Pull out the whole ice machine part. At the back of the fridge you will see a small rectangle hole with a white plastic part inside the whole. Loosen the pastic part by applying a little pressure with your fingers it should move, it's probably just sticking.

Check the bar below the icemaker bin. There is a gold color metal bar that goes from the front of the bin to the back and goes into a lever at the back of the freezer. If the bar gets on the wrong side of the lever it will be stuck in crushed mode.
SOURCE: Crushed ice mode seems stuck - want cubes but keeps crushing.
jeff, at one time the ice bin was removed and there is a rod on the bottom of the bin remove the bin and you'll see an opening where the arm will fin the square plastic looking assy is probally stuck in the up position pull it down with you finger and reinstall the bin the it should work

On most refrigerators there is a lever that engages the ice crusher mechanically when you press the crushed ice button. This lever does not move to engage the ice crusher until you press against your cup or glass to dispense. Look around the ice bucket to see if you can find where this lever may be located on yours and see if stuck or frozen in place.
If the problem is not mechanical this would point to a possible problem with the dispenser board itself which will require someone there to diagnose the problem with a multi-meter. I will be glad to assist someone should you or they have questions
