I had same issue yesterday in the field. The sensor was bad in my case. After replacement of the Stack flu sensor my stack temp was only reading 80 degrees, a clear indication that the board needed to be replaced as well.
Replaced board and the heater fired fine and the stack temp reading was normal, 300 degrees.
To obtain a stack temp, after the heater fires hold down the pool or spa button until the temp appears in the display. It will time out after 10-15 seconds.

Go the the Canon support website and enter your camera model. If there is something you can do, it's there. The E05 error says the lens is jammed or not working correctly. My guess is you need to take it to Canon. This happens if sand gets in the lens or the camera is dropped.

If red light on flash is blinking, flash is charging. In shooting rapidly, sometimes flash will go off even though it isnt fully charged. This can give dark shots. Flash eats batteries like crazy, best to always use fresh batteries for each shoot.
