I purchased my macbook two months ago and recently broke my lcd screen. I have a three year warranty on the computer and was wondering whether it would be covered under the warranty plan? If not, how much should I expect to get the screen replaced? Thanks.
I broke my ibook screen in the past. It costs 389 for a macbook at techrestore for the screen and overnight installation.
You can also try to go the cheap route and get the screen on ebay, but I really don't recommend it if you don't have experience.

No - the buzzing you're hearing is probably the inverter transformer. Its' purpose is to generate high voltage to turn on the backlight to display the image on the screen. The monitor should still be under manufacturers warranty since most of them are a year. Have it repaired or replaced.
I successfully replaced broken Sony Cybershot LCD screen myself. I purchased replacement screen on e-bay for less than $30, including shipping. Then I found a recording on how to replaced this screen on Youtube. In addition I recorded replacement with a camcorder to make sure that I put all parts back where they suppose to be. It was more than a year ago, and my camera works beautifully still.
If you know how to open it up and get to the power supply you will find three capacitors 2-820uf and 1-330 @ 25vdc 105o.they will have puffed up tops replace them. FYI the monitor has a 3 year warranty.
If the spots remain in the same place I'm sorry to say no. Be careful what you clean the screen with. I'm a fan of a warm wet damp only rag. Using alcohol or other cleaners may damage the surface. There are also cleaners available at local stores. You don't need anti-static on an LCD display. The spots can be from pressure on the display applied at some point even if that pressure happens when closing or transpoting your laptop. There is no way to fix it.
That may have been an expensive tantrum - I doubt if it will be repaired as a warranty item and the typical cost of replacement makes it a costly lesson.
I doubt if the LCD panel is priced under $6-700.
Normally warranty does not cover this kind of physical damage to your lcd screen. First check with your vendor to confirm. To replace the lcd panel is very expensive, may cost you as much as to buy a new one.
