Would the cooker display panel glass "Just break" when cooking?

My property was tenanted & on leaving, the tenants advise the glass display panel which houses the cooker control switches "just shattered" when they were cooking. Is this likely & is there anyway to get it fixed as it sounds like the manufacturer is no longer trading

A tenant of ours is saying that their Maytag 27" single oven of: Every time we turn on the oven, there's a very strong gas smell for at least the first few minutes. The oven is heating ok.

you should probably go over or send someone ASAP to pull it out and check the lines are connected properly and haven't become damaged.

Could you imagine the lawsuit and property damage if their was a gas leak. This is the very reason gas has an odor added, it is the only warning sign of a potential leak and explosion.

I would take this very serious and give immediate attention.

Hi dont know if you have solved this but our cooker was doing something similar.on one side and the dorr seal was fine. I turned off the mains, took the side panel off and it turned out the insulation inside had slipped down. I bought some more from eBay.co.uk and replaced all of the old stuff and now I have no problem....1 year on. Hope this helps

Cooking times of six hours or less automatically start on "High" heat and times of seven hours or more will start on "Low" heat. I'm a landlord and my tenant's oven will not heat up to the proper temperature intermittently. I had a guy come out and test the oven and it works fine, yet my tenant is still complaining the oven is not...

Absolutely. That is the first thing I would think that would cause such a fluctuation of temperatures. BUT if it is a gas oven (WITH A PILOT FLAME) then FIRST consider the thermocouple needing to be changed. If the thermocouple keeps faulting it will shut off gas sporadically and keep the gas off until it resets temporarily on its own.
