What caused my kitchen pipe to burst?

I have never heard of this in all my years of appliance repair but I would tend to think that it was a one off hose and nothing more than that.

If teflon tape was used, most likely the base casting split as overtighting can occur.

Water won't come in

Cynthia,
There's a flood/safety switch in the dishwasher. It's there to monitor the water level. It does this by rising as the water rises... if it gets too high, it'll shut the water off.
Open the door and remove the lower rack. You'll see it right there in front. Lift and drop it several times to clear any debris. (In order for the dishwasher to get water, it has to be all the way down.) Now try your dishwasher.

Ashing machine not emptying

check the drain pipe is not blocked, to empty the machine manualy get a bowl on the floor and lower the drain pipe into it and fill to stop water flow lift pipe up in air and lower to start draining again when empty if pipe not blocked i would suggest a new pump located under the drum and easy to fit

Machine wont go into spin cycle

The pump fiter is probably blocked.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Locate, and remove large black hose on bottom of tub.
Remove plastic filter inside, and clean.
Refit filter and hose.
Should now be o/k.
Before you do anything, lay the drain hose down into a bucket or bowl, and drain all the water out, so you do not have a flood when you remove the hose.

Frigidaire front loader leaking water

try turning the water supply down and recheck the form of water spray from above the soap tray(with it out and a towel there). if the jets of water are spraying everywhere it means there are semi blocked holes. either clean them out thorougly or drop the water pressure down to a fast trickle. tone.

Flood protection is activating

Had the same problem on a Miele mashing. In my case trying to clear a drain blockage in a kitchen sink had probably forced water back into the washing machine and caused an internal leakage. Rather than remove the whole machine and tip it over, I opened the small panel at the front bottom (behind the skirting panel) (needs 'special' screwdriver for the 2 screws) and removed the water that was lying on the base of the machine. Not much (less than 5mm) but enough to lift the white polystyrene float (a round disc about 10cm diameter) which was activating the micro-switch and causing the F70 message.
