Suggest the following video on how to change a similar model drive belt, so not everything you see may be the
same on your machine, but its an excellent training vid.
Hi,
There is a shaft that runs from the top of the machine to the bottom, in turn driving the bottom gear and belt. Though it is hard to see, you will probably find that the gear at the top of that shaft has the teeth broken. It is not impossible to change but definitely difficult.
singer has a free pdf manual to download
Go to the singer website
Go to the home page
Go to customer service--click on it--it will show a small menu--click on instruction manual
In the box put the model number (example 348) & click search
Hi. In my experience, this is a fairly common problem (at least with my Singers). The drive belt needs to be a bit loose, but it is possible that yours is a bit TOO loose. Check your manual for how to change the belt. It should also tell you how to tighten the belt.
If you don't have a manual, I strongly suggest you invest in one. They are the most important accessory you can own! I found your manual at http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html
Unfortunately your explanation is not clear enough, have you changed the drive belt or the cam belt ? if you have changed the drive belt there shoulkd be an adjuster so the belt fits on nicely
