I have a Powermate PMO 435001, with a Subaru engine. NO spark. I replaced spark plug, cleaned the carburettor, disconnected the low-oil sensor, checked the gap between the coil and magnet. Still nothing.? (The generator has been sitting for a couple years.)

You need a quart of regular old SAE 5W30 motor oil with detergent.
The engines on these generators are more or less the same as a lawn mower.
Don't forget to service/change the air cleaner when you change the oil, that should keep your generator producing full power.

Cleaning the carb bowl is not enough make sure you pull out the main jet and clean it out real good. If it starts with starting fluid then it is definitely a fuel problem.

it could have sezed up on you take out the plug and try to turn the motor by hand if it wont turn its sezed up,,,if so all you can do is tip down the plug hole a small brop of red x or two stroke oil and rock the motor back and frow till it frees off,,
if it frees off that is!
