Pixie plus sewing machine needle does not go down into the bobbin but hits the metal plate on top of the bobbin. The needle cannot go through the sewing slot.

try these suggstions

1. new needle--one for the fabric being used--flat side always goes to the back--make sure the presser foot in up
2. make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
3. rethread the machine--use Every Thread Guide

Sounds like your placement is off. Check your instrutions or look on line for the manual. I hope this is helpful, at least point you in the right direction.

try changing the needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
make sure the bobbin is not fully wound, usually wind the bobbin
3/4 full, when I was sewing last night & rewound the bobbin & I wound
it to full & it jammed twice on me.
make sure the top thread has not come off the thread take up lever
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area

if you have the reciept for the machine, I'd take it back & get another one
maybe some place else

suggestions
put in a new needle
check your top thread tension
clean under the needle plate
clean the bobbin of lint & loose threads

try changing the needle
try a different thread top & bobbin
make sure the bobbin area is clean of lint & loose threads
check to make sure there is no lint in the feed dog area
also check to make sure the thread stays on the thread take up lever
but if none of these suggestions work,, then the machine could be out of time & need to go to a repair shop

Here are several things to try.

* When you insert your new needle, make sure it’s positioned correctly (usually with the flat side away from the bobbin, but consult your manual), that it goes all the way into the holder, and that the screw is securely tightened.


If there doesn’t seem to be a problem with your needle, try the following:

* Check your pressure foot and make sure it’s attached securely.


* Change your pressure foot Your pressure foot may be bent, causing your needle to hit it.


* Don’t sew over pins a needle that hits a pin can break. Always remove the pins from your fabric before they reach your needle.


* Don’t pull your fabric as you sew. You could be bending your needle back, causing it to hit your needle plate instead of going into the hole. Just guide your fabric, letting it feed on its own.


* Check your needle plate and make sure it's securely in position.


* Change your needle plate. If you’ve been using a straight stitch needle plate (a plate with a small hole, often used for sewing fine, delicate fabrics), switch to a needle plate with a wider hole.


* Check the position of your needle. Sewing machines with zigzag capability allow you to adjust the position of your needle – right, left, or center. If your needle is not positioned correctly, it may be hitting your needle plate or pressure foot.


* Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your
bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and re-thread your bobbin.

* Change your bobbin. There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you sew.

Also, before you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back
and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting
caught in your machine.

IMPORTANT: Always use a metal bobbin, or the magnetized bobbin case will not be able to function properly, resulting in a lack of tension on the bobbin thread.
Step 1:
Turn the handwheel counter-clockwise until the needle is in its highest position. Raise the presser foot lifter. Pull the slide plate forward and remove the empty bobbin.
Step 2:
Place the filled bobbin into the bobbin case, and pull about 4" of thread from the new bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin turns clockwise when the thread is pulled, or you will not have correct tension when you begin to sew.
Step 3:
Hold the needle thread loosely with your left hand. Turn the handwheel toward you, first lowering the needle, and continuing to turn the handwheel until the needle comes to its highest position.
Step 4:
Lightly pull up the needle thread and pick up the bobbin thread which will appear through the needle plate slot. Then pull both threads to the back of the machine leaving a 4" thread tail. Push slide plate back in.
