What is the best scanner to receive local police reports

The all depends on what the police are using in your area. If the police are on a simplex frequency or a local repeater, just about any scanner will do. If you are in an area with P25 digital trunking, you are going to need a more expensive scanner such as the Uniden BC396XT or the brand new Uniden BCD436HP.

Epson sx515w brand new, scanner error

As the machine is brand new I suggest you stop worrying and simply return it for refund or replacement.

When you buy something you are making a contract with the supplier that in return for money he will provide you with goods of merchantable quality.

An item that doesn't work out of the box as per instructions or as advertised and actually seems to be damaged is not of merchantable quality and therefore is a breach of contract.

Scanner is not detecting images / photos to scan resulting in a blank preview

The image sensor may have gone bad. Try reinstalling the driver, if it does not work... It is time to get a new one (it is more expensive fixing a scanner than buying it brand new). Sorry. Good luck.

I have a Sharp AL 1631 copier. The lock scanner light is flashing but it's not locked. I have tried unplugging and starting over but it's not helping.

did this just start happening or is this a brand new scanner. if it's brand new it would be shipped locked. look on the bottom for a slide switch. if it is unlocked, slide the switch to locked then unlocked again. also you would need to leave it unplugged for about ten minutes or so to reset it.

When i scan a photo it comes out a solaesied green. Is it time to buy a new scanner.

it seems like the ccd scanning engine is having problems now if the scanned doc is always green in color then yes it is time to buy a new scanner, i think HP scanners are better , and also mustek its an economical brand as well but look for vista and windows 7 support in it
