I just did that the other day! If you have the controller, press the setup/menu button and hit clock... However, since you wrote this many months ago, I'm sure you figured that out already lol... Just thought I'd answer, though, since I'm here.

I have an Allegro DVD/VCR Moel ABV511. I have an RCE Universal Remote and the code it offers for Allegro DVD/VCR players doesn't work in setting up the remote to control the player. Their code is 5...

There is not really a true 'universal remote.' If the remote is of older design than the set you wish to control, it will not contain the code set you need.
Before you buy another, check the mfr's website for code sets for any given model remote to ensure you aren't buying another one which will end up in a drawer. Unfortunately, this is a very common problem.

I just need to know how to link up my Allegro DVD/VCR REMOTE CONTROL to my Phllips Magnavox Television.

TUNING This DVD+VCR is equipped with a frequency synthe- sized tuner capable of receiving up to 181 channels. These include VHF channels 2-13, UHF channels 14-69 and CATV channels 1-125. Auto Channel Programming 1. Choose the SOURCE SELECT option, then use b / B to select TUNER. Use b / B to switch among TUNER, LINE1, and LINE2. 2. Choose the AUTO CHANNEL SET option, then use b / B to find channels. • The tuner will automatically cycle through all available channels (TV/CATV) in the area and place them in the tuner's memory. •After the AUTO CHANNEL SET is complete, the TUNING menu will hide and return to the TV screen automatically. 3. Make sure the TUNING BAND is set appropriately (TV or CATV). • TV : If you are using a standard antenna to receive channels. •CATV : If you are using basic cable to receive channels.

Not able to view the picture

You may need to change the input on your tv, and check the output cables to make sure they are hooked up correctly.

No audio during movie (Die HArd movies)

Sometimes, the movie video suddenly gets muted during the playback and some prompt-up message shows on your screen, like "Audio outputs temporarily muted". Actually, this is caused by Cinavia Message Code 3.
