Mecha errors usually refer to a mechanical problem. Open and Check if there is any paper hiden inside the machine. if not check the paper tray to check if there is any mark of the roller in the paper top edge than clean the paper pick up roller and separation pad( this parts make contact at the top ege of the paper. Use alcohol isopropilic or soap and warm water to clean it.

There was firmware update needed to use a change in the media as Fall 2010. I don't know why the firmware update was needed but if you didn't update your printer it may fix it.

Paper jam 71 is an error that occurs when a driver on the controller board (IC-28) begins to wear out, or the timing gets thrown off. This causes one paper feed motor to drag the other one. This error is normally accompanied by a loud grinding noise because of this. Kodak's newest firmware version is supposed to fix the problem. If that has no effect then the fix is to replaced the controller board.
