We are not sure how to set up our Brother 4100 Fax Machine to where incoming faxes post the time and date stamp that is programed in the fax machine. This information is very important for our business. Currently it will just print whatever the person that is faxing something over information. But most of the time that is not correct so we want to also include on this incoming fax what our time and date stamp is as well. Does anybody know if this machine is capable of doing this?

Hi Deanna, unfortunately it is not possible on this unit to have the date and time stamped as that is produced by the senders machine, this feature is referred to as the station ID on your brother machine.
Printing a Reduced Incoming Document
Your machine can reduce the size of an incoming fax to fit the size of the paper
in your machine. Select ON to turn on this feature.
After you connect Cassette #2, you can turn on Automatic Reduction for each
cassette. (See Turning on Cassette #2 (Option for FAX-4100 and FAX-4750e), Page
1 Press Menu, 2, 1, 5.
2 If you have the optional Cassette #2,
press or to select CASSETTE #1
or CASSETTE #2, and then press Set.
3 Use or to select ON (or OFF), and
then press Set.
4 Press Stop/Exit.
If you send faxes from a computer on the same phone line and your Brother
machine intercepts them, set Easy Receive to OFF.
Cassette #2 can be purchased.
The mode is correct. You can check the rings to answer setting. Default is 4 rings. If your phone line is just for the fax try setting rings to 1. Sometimes sending fax machines go into redial before the 4th ring.
Also, sometimes unplugging the power for 10 seconds will clear any memory that may have locked up the machine.
i don't have the owners manual handy, but i'm quite sure you can disable the sleep mode by pressing a couples of buttons on control panel. that procedure is in your owners manual on the same page as setting sleep time.
I have a brother intellifax 770 and I bought it used so their for I do not have the owners manual and I am having trouble setting it up and getting it to work. I can fax out but I just can't recieve faxes I can fax my daughter but when she faxes me she gets an error of 388 but she is able to fax and recieve faxes so we know her end is not the problem.
