You don't need codes for the television. You need the codes used by the Universal remote. Search the internet for your RCA universal remote, use it's model number.to find the user manual.
The codes are there.
its not likely you will find a universal remote that will work with a "Quasar" product. Quasar was actually Panasonic model line and has not been around since the 1980's. If you have a universal remote- try using the Panasonic codes and see if that works... if it does not, try the Philips codes and RCA codes.
All of the old recognizable "american brand names" have been purchased by The Chinese and are usually made from Philips parts ( Philips is also know as Magnavox and Sylvania)
The remote model number for the Quasar VV2008 is VSQS1570 and can be ordered from Panasonic at 1-800-221-7262 or Go to a Family Dollar store and purchase the grey RCA universal remote for $6.00 about 6 inches in length. When you are ready to program it for the Quasar VV2008 push the code search button then the VCR button and enter 0162 then push enter. The red light should go off and the remote should turn the TV/VCR off and on. It worked for me 4/19/2013
Sometimes the universal remotes do not compromise fully with certain models especially with combo models.
So you might a different type of universal type to connect with the Quasar codes, but it is ideal if there is the model mentioned in the manual of the remote.
Volume and channel working is what is most important and should be considered good enough.
Try these codes for Quasar TVs: 1003, 1054, 1055, 1070, 1109, 1170
Codes can be found here. http://remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=rca
The manual for the remote can be found here (as of 06/07/2009): http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/dl.cgi?file=others/rca/rcr311-manual.zip&area=other
Basically, try holding the TV button, the on/off button should light up. Then press the digits for the code one at a time. If the code is accepted, the on/off button should go off. Finally let go of the TV button. Now try operating your TV.
press tv button and hold it down, While holding down tv button put in code (for Quasar tv: 1054), light will go off then back on when code is entered, release tv button and now remote should be programed
