Hi,

If the chain isn't simply off the sprocket or otherwise damaged, you may have a bad clutch sprocket assembly. This a centrifugal clutch that drives the chain for the saw.

Here is a link to a vendor who sells parts for your saw. There are no doubt other vendors if you shop around a bit:

if it is hard to start and smokes sounds like the fuel is to old and the oil to gas mixture is wrong start off with some fresh fuel gas is only good for 30days in small engines

Saw runs fine but the saw will not spin the chain. starts to go but then slows to spurts

Check the tension and lubrication of the chain. You should be able to turn the chain by hand when adjusted. Check the lubrication by running the saw tip at speed for a moment or two near some cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil. If ok, then you may need to remove the bar and chain, then wash out the clutch hub with spray carburetor cleaner. Hope this helps!

Muculloch 310 power chain saw blade will start to spin at correct speed , then begin to spin at a craw. how to correct

Remove the drive cover and wash out the clutch drum with spray carburetor cleaner. Make sure the chain is being oiled properly by running the saw at speed with the bar tip near some cardboard. It should throw off a thin line of oil after several moments. The chain should be tight enough to pull it up to the bar, but still be able to turn it by hand. Hope this helps!

Chain wont turn when running

Check the tensioner screw, it could be too tight. Loosen the slack and the chain should move. And of course do this while its off.
