Question about Kenmore Dryers

1 Answer

Kenmore dryer 400 series never stop when timed dry cycle even if the door open. Buzzer sound never stops at end of cycle.

Kenmore dryer 400 series does not stop when I open the door in middle of timed dry cycle. Also, Buzzer sound never stops until I change the timer knob position to off. Do I have now 2 parts broken? 1,Door switch (Timed dry cycle never stop even if the door open) 2,Timer (Buzzer sound never stop until I switch to off position) Can you please determine what cause this issue and what parts do I need to replace this time? Should I replace the timer first and see buzzer issue will fix or not? Please advice,,

Dryer stops but the timer continues on

Fixed! The "push to start" button was stuck. Must have been some dust. I pushed the knob a few times and that's all it took. Works fine now.

Buzzer won't shut off. only when door is left open

could be a number of things, but you may want to test with an ohmmeter if you have one.
It sounds like your timer needs to be replaced. If the buzzer is not shutting off, the timer may not be turning to the off position. It may be really slow our out of wack, not letting the dryer completely dry. It also could be an error with the dryer's control module (kind of like a computer for the dryer)
I also recommend playing around with door switch, it to may be faulty. If the dryer does work with door closed, it is unlikely to be the door switch. You will have to test timer and door switch with ohmmeter or voltmeter to determine that the voltage current is constant and not speratic or shorting out.

Kenmoore 70 series Buzzer will not stop

buzzer is built -in the timer you all should replace it if you really want it solved they have done their work over the years. It's not something you can just go in and unplug or cut sorry. Good Luck. Post your make and model numbers next time please.

Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.

Kenmore 70 series model # 96573220

Sounds like the push to start switch has gone bad. Not to expensive to fix, and pretty easy to do as well. You can remove the rear of the console, remove the push to start switch (lift the tab, then turn to unlock) and replace. Be sure to mark your wires so they go back in the right order. Jim
