We keep getting an error code "F 12" and have no idea what it refers to

Is the oven heating? I looked at all the comercial microwave oven codes but this does not show up, but if memory serves me the f-12 code is lower magnerton circuit failure, note not necessarily the magnetron, possibly the capacitor or a gritty joint to the mag from the lv side.

Kenmore Microwavonly works intermittently shows F9 what is wrong?

There could be one of many possible failures causing the "F9" fault code. It could be a loose wire connection between the magnetron, control PCB or the inverter. It could have failed PCB, inverter module or magnetron. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your microwave. NOTE: Do not attempt to

Call engineer and E-10 on display on amana commercial URFS518S Micro wave oven could you please tell what the fault is and how i can cure it. Regards.

E10:

An attempt has been made to program the oven for more time than allowed.
1. Press STOP/RESET pad.
NOTE: Maximum cooking time is 60 minutes except when cooking with full
power (100%). In case of full power (100%), maximum cooking time is 20
minutes.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour then try again.

Model 767w

First of all, it should still be under warranty since it's less than a year old.

If so, I would contact LG at the number on the owner's manual and check with them.

They should be able to send an authorized servicer and repair it at no charge.

Otherwise, the E10 code usually indicates a problem with the control board or keypad.

This can also happen if moisture gets into the controls, either from steam, spray cleaners, or being in an unheated building such as a garage or shed.

LG make Combimode microwave oven not working

body { background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0px; padding: 4px; font-family: arial, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; } p { margin:0px; padding:0px; } .spwrap { background: transparent url(http://www.fixya.com/wysiwyg_rte/misspell.gif) repeat-x scroll center bottom; } Dear Friends,
The Main Board error codes indicate for most of occurrences that the board itself has not passed the start up checks that are built in but there are cases when this is due to peripheral like door safety switches, shorted elements etc. While it is quite worth to explore this yourself if you are a techie and feel confident, please do not attempt if you do not know for sure what you are doing. And yes- DISCONNECT THE POWER PLUG BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO REMOVE COVERS and keep it disconnected till the work is over.

Check care fully for the looseness in all the connectors that go to the main board behind operating panel and the door switches, thermal cutouts and magnetron itself. you need not to know about these components, you are just looking for loose connections. If you find any - try to unseat and then seat them firmly. This alone will solve more than 50% problems. Pay attention to the green flat ribbon like cable that comes from inside of operating panel and goes in on large blue socket of main board. You need to pull a blue long tab on the socket itself away from board before you can disconnect the cable, and push it back after cleaning side surface of cable and putting it back in previous place. If this cable is loose, some or all buttons of panel will not work.

There are instances of complaint that the microwave platter starts rotating with or without the sound of internal cooling fan when door is opened - in 99% cases it is upper door switch - it's actuator - dark brown tab which comes out when the door is opened is failing to come out fully. You may attempt to set it right yourself if you are a good hand in repairing small components or obtaining exact replacement is not difficult from repair shops. Its technical name is micro- switch and you either will need to tell the size and no of wires coming out of it or the best is to remove the same and show it in the shop to get exact replacement. In my case the internal leaf spring needed stiffening and it worked fine. Similarly other door switched also cause unexpected things but usually it is small problem.

Although if you leave power plug connected and power on during nights, and fine one fine midnight that the appliance is making sound, usually it does not mean the microwaves are working inside. It could be opposite of the thing described above. But - why to leave it on during nights? Best practice is to unplug it when not in use. This will certainly protect your appliance from voltage surges that are known to damage electronic appliances often.

One reader quoted non functioning of panel switches when a through wet cleanup was attempted- It is nothing but some how water or soap solution got inside the layers of panel switches which happens to be membrane type. Some switches may start functioning (usually the upper ones when water moves downwards due to gravity) after some time . The best possible safe solution would be to remove water by gently using a hair dryer on outer surface to heat it up so that the water in internal layers evaporates slowly bringing all buttons to previous level of functioning. Take care not to heat-up too much or the plastic panel may deform - use a 6 inch distance at medium heat setting and your patience. It might take a while but half an hour work is worth against replacement. If you are more confident- you may attempt to peel off delicate layers of switch board, clean them and reassemble back using thin double sided tape. Mind that even though you are not removing cover, appliance is to be disconnected from mains first.

Hope it helps.

Microwave Keypad not working

This model does have a child lock. If it's on, the display will say "LOCKED". It is turned on and off by holding dfown the "0" key for 4-5 seconds. You may also have a bad keypad, which in many cases can be replaced. A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics. Repost if you need more help.
