CASIO FX-83ES - reset to factory settings

Please could you tell me how to reset this calculator? Back to factory settings?

oh there is something else wrong other than the settings, as I have re set and it is still not working correctly.

if i divide 500 by .4 it brings it to a fraction, this is fine as I press S-D but it then turns it into the following answer 8x10to the power of negative 4!!!

I am looking to convert it back to .0008

    How can I do this?

  • Andiec Nov 15, 2007

its ok I have fixed my problem, it was due to the amoutn of decimal places I had my calculator set to show, I have set it to 9 so its fine now.

    thanks fir your help

I do not have my instruction book any more. I was wondering if I could get a new one, or a copy of one. I would be really helpful so I can fix my problen which is that I can't divide numbers that don't go into eachother equally. For example 47 divided by 7 comes out to be 47 over 7. An instruction book would be great thanks.

I have this same problem, where the calulator shows me the fraction instead of the decimal number. I tried changing the number of decimal places and it didn't work.

    Any other ideas?

I have a calculator CASIO fx-9750GA. I want to convert certain decimals into fractions and when I press the d/c button it says "SYN error" I don't know what that is? I tried pressing Shift and then the Set-up button and the first option is Mode and the one below it is Func Type. Across from Mode it says "comp" I don't know how to change from there either. Please help. I rather use the d/c button, why is it not working?

Try removing its batteries first.

if you don't feel like removing the battery then perform this operation!

    SHIFT 9 (CLR) 3 (ALL) = YES

This will initialize the calculator and return the calculation mode and setup to its initial default setting. this will also clear all data currently in the calculator.

Hi there, i have the same problem with the Casio fx 83ES. Simple Sums difficult without Exp?

The Enter Exponent key may be marked as x10^x. It is in the last row of keys, near the =/EXE. To enter a negative exponent use the change sign key (-), not the minus key for subtractions.
