Clarion car radio

Just got my car back from reparier and the radio says 'code' and won;t operate. found a code number in the car manual, but it has an 8 and a 7 in it and the numbers on the buttons only go frrom 1 - 6. how do you enter the numbers?? can anyone help??

    Receiver is a Clarion cassette radio. not usre of the modfel. no model number visible on front panel. it is the genuine Mitsubishi-fitted audio system.

    where would i find a model number?? it is one of the removable ones, but i can't see how to pull it out.

    i have changed my car battery and the clarion car radio wanted a code number. I do not know how to do it although i must say i have the code number. The code number runs from 3 to 9 but I couldn't find the number pad on it that i could enter. Please help

Hi I had the same problem for my clarion but through many frustrated attempts have worked it out you hold down the clk button till you get a 0 onto the computer screen then you start to type the first number of your code using the find seek button on the radio clicking clk between each number hope this helps

Usually, you go to the local Subaru dealer with your registration document and the serial number on the back of the set and they give it to you for free. Or, you pay a company for the code after you wend them the serial number.

Misplaced unlock code for clarion cx501 how do I unlock the unit?


If the radio is a factory radio the code to unlock it should be on a bussiness card size peice of paper with the owners manual and warrentee booklet. The card will say radio code and have a six digit number.

A CD input is not the method used as the code is manually inputted into the radio using the push buttons on the front.(The method / instructions are below )

The only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.

(There are usually two barcodes on one label. The one required is the lower one )

If you have this barcode serial number then
POST ANOTHER QUESTION
quoting it.


If you do not have this number then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Each Clarion model may have different code entry instructions.

The Model Number is found on a label on your radio casing.
