Batteries don't charge. I have a new battery, and neither of the old or new batteries work in the charger. I get flashing lights only, sometimes red, sometimes green, but in the end, the battery isn't charged

Dust getting in the charger is a problem, Try blowing it out with a moisture-free dust remover, found at most any store. Green flashing means improper power, due to dust or power from the outlet, try a differant wall outlet. Red flashing means the charger or battery is to hot and must cool down before it will charge. The charger will not charge a battery if the lights are flashing. Solid Red light means it is charging and solid green light means it is charged. Plug the charger in first before putting the battery on the charger. If the charger has been droped or hit the floor the coil inside could have broke loose and dammaged the charger requiring it to be replaced.

If batteries are fully drained, I found the chargers will stay in "evaluate" mode, and never attempt to charge the batteries.
I was having this problem, so I rigged s couple wires from a battery that was fully charged, and connected them to the battery that the charger would not charge. I let it sit for approx. 10 min. Then put it back on the charger , and it started charging normally....
It just needed a bit of a jump start..

Drill master bad batteries or bad charger?

This could possibly be faulty batteries. Where are these batteries stored? If they are kept in a really cold place the batteries can 'cut out' and not charge until they have warmed up to room temperature. How old are these batterie and do they get used a lot? Batteries do get old and wear out. When both LED lights are on it is usually an issue with a shorted battery, (both lights on and NOT blinking), or a bad connection between the battery and the charger, (both lights on and blinking).
First unplug the charger and remove the battery. Take a close look at the connector pins on both to make sure there isn't dirt or something blocking the electrical contacts. Sometime the fix is that easy.
Next replace the charger. this is often your cheapest first step. That way you have a spare if the charger isn't the problem. If the new charger doesn't work it's the batteries that are faulty and they'll need replacing.

Red light flashing will not charge battery have left over night with no result

Sometimes, this is a result of a battery that is too cold (below freezing-warm it up). Sometimes it can be too hot (discharged under heavy stress-let it cool down). Sometimes there may be insufficient voltage, I have had problems in older houses, get closer to the electrical panel to plug in, or you may have to wait until you get home. Red flashing may mean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rZqYmPsZycthe charger or battery is to hot and must cool down before it will charge. The charger will not charge a battery if the lights are flashing. Solid Red light means it is charging and solid green light means it is charged. Plug the charger in first before putting the battery on the charger. If the charger has been dropped or hit the floor the coil inside could have broke loose and damaged the charger requiring it to be replaced. Below is an unconventional way to charge the battery if the charger is no good. BE CAREFUL

My dc18ra makita battery charger flashes red and green lights no matter how many bateries i try

The pcb inside the battery has a microcontroller that monitor the charges and charge cycle. When the cell falls below a certain voltage, it will instruct the charger not to charge and will show with a red-green flashing light. If the battery has been tried 3 times in succession then the pcb will brick itself from the makita charger. So first replace the bad cells. There are 2 solutions at this moment: charge with a 3rd party lithium charger like the imax b6 or replace the pcb with a working one. check out my blog on http://mkbl1830.blogspot.com/

Red and green flashing lights on 18v lxt charger

Batteries don't always look degraded but if they've been in use for a while or have a bad cell, they will show up bad on the charger and it won't charge them. The only way to test the batteries is to try to charge them on another charger. If the batteries show defective on another charger, they are bad and you'll have to replace them. Also try to charge some batteries you know to be good on your charger to see if it's the problem. If your batteries charge on another charger, your current charger is bad and they don't have any replaceable parts in them so you'd be looking at replacing it.

Red and green light flashing on 5 of my bl11830 battaries and they will not take a charge

If you put a battery on your charger and both red and green lights flash it is indicating that battery is defective. There may be a short in the battery or they just may be too old and worn out to charge anymore. If the charger is reading the battery as defective it will not charge the battery. The only fix is to buy new batteries.

12v 1.5amp fully auto, alwyas worked, hook up to battery 12v 8.5amph, alwys red light flashed, went solid while charging, then off, or flashed, and off cause was already fully charged. now red light just...

I really don't have any idea as to what you're talking about here other than a battery and maybe a charger. Seems as if you're saying that you have a 12 volt 1.5 amp automatic battery charger connected to a 12 volt, 8.5amph battery but the red light on your charger is blinking. The blinking red light indicates that the charger is not seeing a proper connection such as crossed polarity connection or simply a poor connection. You say that the battery voltage has dropped from 12.5 volts to 9.1 volts with the charger connected. If this is the case, the battery is badly discharged and the charger is not charging the battery for some reason. The charger may be bad but check the connections to make certain they are correct and good. If they are, I'd replace the charger.

Good luck

Truck won't start, new battery, lights keep flashing

Sometimes the new battery is not 100% charged. Put it on a charger or jump start the car, the alternator should then charge up the battery.

Battery Charger Olympus li-40c

I had this problem a few weeks ago (i.e. flashing red LED). All I did was remove the power plug from the charging unit, turned it around 180 degrees, then plugged it back into the charging unit. Red LED came on steady & the battery (which is the one that came with the camera) recharged as normal.
