I am able to logon and connect to the EA server but at the time when im about to accept a challenge and start the game the screen says "connecting" but then it freezes the entire game. It also freezes my opponents console as well. I have tried to reinstall the network connection and it still doesn't work. I contacted my ISP but they have no clue what to do. Can you help
Erase all madden data from your memory card including network configuration and download the latest rosters and try again. The error happens when the rosters (between the two people playing) dont match and you try to connect online. Download the rosters and dont mess with them! This worked for me and i was getting a buzzing sound every time i tried to connect to a game online, i even went out and rented a another copy of the game, so definately a memory card problem.

I've just fixed this problem...
We bought a 2nd ps3 with mercs2 yesterday and had the same problem on the new system, even when using the other copy of mercs2 from my original ps3.
This 100% worked for me;
I loaded battlefield, bad company on the new system and accepted EA's online terms. Then i started a quick game multiplayer match (don't be surprised if it doesn't connect 1st time as that occasionally happens anyway). Then i quit bad company, banged in mercs2 and "jus like that" the freeze is gone and you can play online.
I have also read that this works with army of two also but i can't confirm that.
this seems like ea dont have enough power for the amount of people willing to play their games. it seems a lot of ea games are not connecting so i would say that ea need to upgrade themselves its not you as many people have the same problem
Hi, this issue has a wide range of possible problems. in order to narrow the field down try the following, see if your other games can make an online connection. if you do not own any others, the full auto 2 demo available for download allows for online play. if this game can connect it may just be that the servers for NCAA are over-crowded and as a result, players cannot log on/ join games as well as they should be able to. On the other hand, if the other game cannot connect aswell, you may wish to re-check your settings on your console, your wi-fi or ethernet modem, or make sure that your provider is not experiencing technical difficulties at this time. I hope that within the examples given, one yields the solution to your problem. Problem with the EA servers being overloaded from time to time or the people your playing against are disconnecting towards the end of the game. Its nothing your doing wrong. EA really needs to upgrade there servers cause I run into the same problem
Simple fix. I'm guessing you have some kind of router in the mix there.
Update the firmware on that bad boy. I had the same issue with my xbox360. It's quite easy to do. Go to the manufacturers website of the router, and just do a search for, 'firmware'. Then, once you download the file, open up the console to your router.
It usually something typed in the browser like, 192.168.0.1, etc. Login, and update the firmware.
If that doesn't work. Get ahold of sony, maybe even checking their site. They may need some specific ports opened up on the router to allow specific packets to go through the network.
I had the same problem where I'm logged into XBox Live and I couldn't get into the EA servers to play any EA games. This is what worked for me:
1. Hit the XBox button and Log out of XBox live. 2. Go to the Settings tab and select System Settings. 3. Choose Console Settings then Clock. 4. Choose Daylight Savings and set this to OFF and back out. 5. Log back into XBox Live and the time will be set automatically. 6. Start you EA Game and Have Fun!!!
