I muted my tv it wont unmute i have no sound help

Check your remote control for its infrared emission. If the remote does work for half mute, an other press must make the TV to full mute, and an other press the TV should be unmuted. Check the remote with new batteries.

It appears you ve discovered the sound task levers required to adjustment properties. Your Tv can still move levers even when the volume is set to mute. Select the unmute button before any voice or audio would be reactivated. Assuming that seting the TV on mute has predominant integrety over the volume functions where not unmuting usually with the same button on the remote would not achieve accessibility to the volume functions. refer to the TV user guide for diagnostic audios. Hi try pressing either the mute button again or simply increase the volume to unmute the TV. most TVs respond to this procedure. Pressing the volume buttons on the tv will have the same effect if the remote has failed

Go to the top of your keyboard. There is a button with a black sideways bell shape icon on it ( a speaker) (the f3 key)...probably four in from the left starting with esc. Toggle that on. It may be on the mute setting now. It should have waves coming out of it when it is unmuted. To the right of that button (two buttons to the right) is the increase volume control button, the (f5) key. Make sure the volume is up! If it is down all the way you will hear nothing and it will be also muted.
I am not sure why if you go into System Preferences (under the Apple icon) and scroll down to Sound and Output, the mute box cannot be unchecked. Perhaps using the function keys to unmute and increase volume on the top of the keyboard will help.

I unplugged the tv for 5 minutes. When I turned it back on, I had sound!

went into setup, tv and kept hitting the mute then unmute it finally took. Not sure what was wrong with it since I had already done that several times. The two audio outputs on the side of the tv do not work like it says in the manual for surround sound. Its definitely a cheap tv.

Unplug the TV for 30 seconds or more. plug it back in and find the help menu and see how to do a system reset.
