I have a cambridge audio amp A5 . I have just bought them on ebay along with some 9.1 whalfedale speaker but have no idea how to connect them . Please help

How to wire my speaker to my amp
The speakers may have plugs that are compatible with sockets in the rear of the ampm if they are compatible it is a simple matter of inserting the pins and pushing them home.
It may be that the speakers just have bare wires and the amp has spring loaded wire retainers ...in that case you will acertain which of the speaker wires is negative and which is positive and , while pushing down the spring loaded clamp of the speaker wire retaining clamp, you should insert the appropriate wire in the

If the amp doesn't have a dedicated phono socket then you will need a magnetic cartridge pre-amp.

Just make certain that the connections are all good with no wires touching. If it still doesn't perform after that return it to where you bought it and get a new replacement or your money back.

I have cambridge audio azur 640a amp. Problem I have is only the one speaker is working. Both speakers seem to be ok working off the left speaker terminal. Seems to be problem with output from right...
The fault is on the amp! It sounds like the protection circuit is detecting a surge on the channel and shuts it down to protect the speaker. I would check the semiconductor device(s) for the right channel on the heatsink of the amp. You might even see damage of burning on one!

Cambridge A5 Amp, only one speaker works when phono selected
If both speakers work okay on other inputs .Then cable from pre-amp to amp and main amp are okay. If phone RCA jacks go directly to electronics board .Then its possible solder on phono jacks need to be resoldered or other connections in that section.If unit needs repair you can also purchase a phono preamp from radioshack hook up your and use it on other good inputs such as CD etc..Please note PHONO inputs are only for turntables .If a non turntable input such as CD,TAPE,TV Etc is used on PHONE .Then you will overdrive this input .

Can't connect amp to speakers
MOST amps have a small plastic plug in the center of the amps speaker output sockets use a small screw to pull these out.

Problem with azur 640a amp
protection mode activated to protect your amp from a problem.
please disconnect all your speaker from the amp and check if it is fine start to connect your speaker one by one until you find the bad one which make the problem-change its cable first and then speaker itself.if the problem still you will have a problem in amp.
