My friend just got a KOLE AUDIO QX1-30000.. he's wantin to know if its a 3,000 watt amp or what because it says QX1-30000 on it??

On the hk 980-2 those boxes are just for looks. I own one of these amps and im runnin 3x30amp fuses in it and it seems to put out 870-900 watts bridged at 14.5volts all day. I have an extra battery and i put 0-4 gauge reducers in mine. I have 2 memphis pr 12s and they sound really good on it.

The required voltage is 24 volts...which means two 12 volt batteries connected in series...It sounds as if you have two 12 volt batteries connected in parallel...Which doubles the amps and leaves the voltage at 12 volts...Connect the negative of one battery to the positive of the second battery...Then from the positive of battery #1 to the negative of battery #2 is the required 24 volts for the Kole...Guru...saailer

if it stopped suddenly i would check the fuses and work your way back to the where the remote start wire is attached. if you where pushing it hard the fuse is likely. also check the connections on the amp closely.

depends on the size of your amplifier. what size is it? and how many channels? and what class?

check RCA cables..if not that, you may have lost a channel

your speaker outputs on the amp are bad

Are you setting the bridge switch for both left and right or are you trying to run both subs off of one set of terminals? If you running the subs off one set of terminals you are effectively running the amp below 2ohms and thus the amp is not 2ohm stable and you will destroy it.

Some amps actually all ready run a bridged output for left/right operation, this could also be the reason why the protection circuit is kicking on.

Either way it's a component mismatch and you either need a stronger amp or different subwoofer setup.

It is correct to connect the amp turn on wire to the amplifier remote. 5V is sufficient to turn most amplifiers on... It should be 12V optimally.
If the amplifier is not turning on with the ant. remote, the problem is with the amplifier.

you need a fuse of 300amps or higher with 1/2aut cable power supply connected to an after market altenator. also make sure the subs are wired properly.
